In a press release shared online, Techland revealed that original events will be returning to the first Dying Light, while special rewards commemorating the first game can be nabbed. What's more, Dying Light will get another update that will improve the visual quality, as will Stay Human with a reworked prologue.
Of course, it won't be long before fans can play the next entry in the series as The Beast has been earmarked for Summer 2025. Currently, the team is "tweaking the moveset and animations as requested by many fans to make Kyle truly feel like Kyle." Beyond that, though, the franchise as a whole isn't going anywhere. It'll also make the jump from video games into other mediums.
"We'll continue the series with multiple unannounced projects and will also go beyond video games with new board games, exclusive merchandise, original webcomic series and more on the horizon. Our goal is to bring the world of Dying Light to even more people."
As a final note, Techland shared some rather interesting numbers about the franchise as a whole. First and foremost, 45 million players have stepped into the world of Dying Light. Those 45 million have combined to kill exactly 75,926,162,940 billion zombies, or nine times the world's population over nearly 1.2 billion hours of playtime. It's safe to say the franchise has been a smash hit, and now we officially know it isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
