Humans, elves, and even the undead are learning all sorts of combat and mystical arts to be able to slay whatever they meet and grab as much treasure as they can carry. Whether you're heading into the dungeon by yourself or in a group, some of the classes will entice you to pick them for obvious reasons… which are right here.

8 Death Knight

If you have the choice to play an undead warrior, and it's not at the top of your list, that's confusing. Standing tall and stoic among the classes is the Death Knight, who stares death in the face and thinks, "I can do that."

It's a physical-based class that tries to balance between the DPS and tank roles. It can hit hard and take a fair amount of punishment, making it a good addition for any team and a strong contender for a main solo class.

It also has access to some cool magic skills for additional range and protection. Since it uses Soul Energy, this class is strongest when it's fighting and killing monsters left and right. It's one of the slowest classes, but the Death Knight is in no rush to be awesome.

7 Pyromancer

Of all the natural elements that frequently appear in the media, fire gets a lot of attention, especially in fantasy settings. This leads to an entire school of magic and professions revolving around controlling fire, hence the Pyromancer. Unsurprisingly, this class emanates power, and it feels so good to charge up a fireball and let it fly into a giant beast or group of monsters and watch it explode.

It also gains access to various magical weapons to improve its range and versatility while having spells to affect the immediate area. Though it needs time to charge up the strongest attacks and isn't the most agile, the Pyromancer is fire, and no, we are not sorry for saying that.

6 Druid

A classic class in the fantasy realm, the Druid is what you can expect from such a title. This elf-based class gives them command over the natural world and an affinity for animals. As such, the main ability of the Druid is to shapeshift into a Panther for greater speed and attack power.

It can also summon a powerful ally in the Treant, a large tree-like monster that can dish out damage and draw enemy attention. The weapons it gains access to are a mix of magic and physical, having inherent lightning attacks. Unfortunately, the Druid is a very vulnerable class that needs to pick its moments but can easily create opportunities.

5 Cryomancer

Since fire is so popular in magic and more, it's not surprising that ice would follow closely behind. It just makes sense that Cryomancer would be one of the coolest classes you can pick, and it's undead.

This means it's a magic class that depends on Soul Energy to cast all of its chilling magic. Its spells deal cold damage that can drain health over time, but more importantly, they can slow down targets significantly for follow-up damage or for allies to swoop in.

You can also use its ice for protection and defense during tough battles. Since this magic requires a lot of control, the Cryomancer needs to maintain focus when casting and relies mainly on gradual damage, but it's all chill.

4 Rogue

People either like the Rogue or fear that it might be lurking in the shadows because where else would they be hiding? True to form, this class is all about getting around quickly, quietly, and grabbing anything slightly valuable. When it comes to battle, it relies mainly on precise high-damage strikes and poisons, which will debilitate any targets unlucky enough to be hit by it.

It also possesses skills to help it hide in the shadows and move more stealthily to avoid detection from monsters and other adventurers. The main drawback is that it is not built for extended combat and needs to strike with the right timing, but Rogues can always find the time.

3 Fighter

Yes, we all know the jokes about Fighters being basic and this class is not a strong argument to the contrary, but that doesn't mean it can't be. As a Fighter, this class attempts to balance solid attack power with high defensive power, making it the obvious choice for a tank. It can take tons of damage, cut through enemies, use almost any weapon, and even endure the volatile antics of its teammates.

Its tendency for shields to be buffed by its base strength allows this class to block a lot, but this cuts both ways. The Fighter's abilities are physical, meaning that they can be blocked by opponents, and any skilled ranged attacker can whittle them down.

2 Swordmaster

Swords are cool and being a master of them sounds pretty sweet, but the Swordmaster is not as amazing as it could be. With a name like that, this class was made to be a DPS, throwing itself into the midst of a fight to rip through everything.

It's designed to eliminate targets one-on-one quickly and can move fast as well to chase down fleeing opponents or engage ranged attackers before they have a chance to fire. The bad news is that the Swordmaster only does well on its own and requires smaller swords to use its powers. Not to mention that dual-wielding swords lock you into combos all the time.

1 Priest

And here we have the Priest, the most obvious support class of all and there's nothing wrong with that. This class has a wide range of magic abilities that can quickly and instantly heal your teammates when they need it most. Its other abilities allow for passive healing that can heal the whole party and provide magic protection for tougher battles.

For fighting, it gains access to charged magical weapons which can be quite handy. However, this is a class that needs a team to shine. It's not meant to solo a dungeon because if it did, there's a high chance it'd end as another decorative blood stain.
