Core Keeper has a lot of loot to find. Enterprising players can cobble together a full suite of equipment with relative ease, but those who take the time to complete a set get extra bonuses for their trouble. Matching two or more pieces of gear from the same set carries some powerful benefits.

9 Mold Jewels

Item

How To Get

Effect

Mold Ring

Dropped by enemies in the Mold Dungeon.

+10 percent critical hit chance

Mold Vein Necklace

Dropped by enemies in the Mold Dungeon.

+23.7 percent ranged damage

  • Set Bonus: Immune to Mold Infection

The Mold Dungeon is one of the game's most dangerous areas. Not only is it swarming with aggressive Infected Cavelings who can easily tear you to shreds in large groups, but the longer you remain on moldy terrain the slower you'll move.

Spend enough time in the Mold Dungeon, however, and you'll eventually gather the components necessary to make yourself at home! Each time you defeat an Infected Caveling or a Mold Tentacle, there is a very small chance that they'll drop either the Mold Ring or the Mold Vein Necklace. With both equipped, you'll be immune to the slowing effect of mold tiles.

8 Glurch's Gear

Item

Blob Rosary Necklace

Dropped by Glurch The Abominous Mass

+15 max HP

Melting Crystal Ring

Dropped by Glurch The Abominous Mass

+5% percent dodge chance

  • Set Bonus: +13.1% Physical Ranged Damage

If you've put a few bosses away but aren't quite ready to venture beyond the Great Wall, a great use of your time is repeatedly summoning and defeating Glurch The Abominous Mass in hopes of claiming his ring and necklace.

After you've defeated Ghorm The Devourer you can use the Mysterious Idol to bring the Caveling Merchant into your base. The Caveling Merchant sells, among other things, the Giant Slime Summoning Idol which can be placed at Glurch's original starting position to fight the boss all over again.

Each time Glurch is defeated, you might receive either the Blob Rosary Necklace or the Melting Crystal Ring. However, Glurch will never drop both set pieces at once, so you'll need to fight the massive slime at least twice to get the bonus. There is no other way to get these accessories.

While not as powerful as other sets, the relative ease with which you can grind out both items makes Glurch's gear a great choice for beginners. The extra HP and dodge chance from the individual accessories doesn't hurt, either!

Defeat a Caveling Scholar, and you may have a chance to claim their mystical robes for your own to make yourself a powerful threat against the bosses of the Underground World. Equipping both the Cloak and Hood gives you an enormous 24 percent increase to the damage you deal against bosses!

Caveling Scholars also have a chance of dropping the Scholar's Staff, a somewhat slow but extremely powerful ranged weapon. Combined with the robes, the Scholar's Staff and Caveling ID complete an excellent build for boss grinding.

+40 Fishing Skill

  • Set Bonus:
    • 3 Set: +24% Chance of Fishing added as Ranged Damage
    • 5 Set: 29% Chance to get double fish

The Fishing Set takes a long time to gather but helps you mass-produce powerful meals in the mid-to-late game. The easiest way to collect this set is to simply fish for each piece in the correct area as you progress through the game. You can get the Scuba Fins as early as finding your first fishing pole, and they offer only slightly less protection than Bronze Pants.

Not only does the complete set offer all the combined bonuses of the individual pieces, but it also gives you a roughly one-in-three chance of catching two fish every time you reel one in. Later areas like the Sunken Sea have some great fish to use in cooking, so being fully decked out in diving gear is a great way to get the ingredients you need.

No matter which map you generate when you start a new game, you're going to do a lot of digging during your adventures in Core Keeper. You can put all that hard work to good use with the Ancient Gems, which only become available once you've reached the final tier of the Mining talent tree.

Once you've unlocked the Archeologist talent, there is a small chance that one of the Ancient Gem accessories will drop each time you mine a wall. If you've got a decent pickaxe and lots of patience, you can start to grind out the necessary experience by excavating the entire starting biome.

The Ancient Gems set enhances your mining speed and strength, which will already be exceptional by the time you're able to claim these items.

4 Ivy's Gear

Item

How To Get

Effect

Ivy's Pants

Dropped by Ivy The Poisonous Mass

+49 maximum HP

Increases critical hit damage by 31 %

Ivy's Ring

Dropped by Ivy The Poisonous Mass

Increases ranged attack speed by 5.4%

Ivy's Thorn Harness

Dropped by Ivy The Poisonous Mass

+53 maximum HP

Increases critical hit damage by 31%

  • Set Bonus: +25% Critical Hit Chance for a short duration after applying Poison

Ivy The Poisonous Mass is the second of the game's giant slime bosses, and the equipment she drops is some of the best in the game. While Ivy's equipment doesn't offer any Armor, it increases the amount of damage your critical hits deal by a massive amount. Ivy's Ring is technically also part of the set, but you only need two pieces to gain the set bonus which boosts your critical hit rate whenever you poison an enemy.

Poisoned weapons are essential for getting the most out of Ivy's set bonus. While most enemies aren't affected by poison since it reduces healing rate rather than dealing damage directly, you'll still want to inflict the status effect as often as possible for the increase to your critical hit percentage.

+4.8 Mana every sec

+1 max Minion Count

+11.4% Minion Damage

  • Set Bonus: Increase Magic Damage by 48%

This is the third set on our list that comes from a slime boss, but by looking at the stats above, you can see why. This powerhouse of a set is great for those looking to have a minion build, as it buffs your Mana, minion damage, and minion count.

On top of that, the full set gives you an absolutely massive magic damage boost. This set seems like it's too good to be true, but you'll still need to make your way to the Molten Quarry and defeat Igneous the Molten Mass, who can be quite tough.

Sorcerers rejoice! With the Sorcerer set, you can greatly boost your Mana and magical abilities. Even one piece of this set can be great, but if you are wearing all three pieces, you'll be rewarded with additional magic damage.

While this set does require you to venture into the Sunken Sea, it's well worth it if you favor magic as opposed to melee combat. Additionally, this set provides a nice magic barrier so you can protect yourself while casting powerful spells.

Last but not least, we have the Solarite armor set. Rather than finding this in the world, you'll need to make it. While Solarite isn't exactly an early-game resource, it doesn't rely on RNG to obtain (like other sets on our list). Instead, you can simply craft it if you have enough material.

This set doesn't rely on boosting your magic; it simply makes you tankier and stronger. This is great if you are going for a classic warrior vibe. Even if you like to use magic-based weapons, it's still good enough to keep you protected.
