Getting past most locked doors in Conscript is often a matter of hunting down the right item. The occasional combination lock spices things up by forcing you to search for clues to discover the code. It won't be as simple as finding a note with the right code written on it.

How To Get The Gas Mask
Many areas within the Galleries are full of toxic gases that will impede your progress, so you'll need the Gas Mask. Start by heading back to the Lower Stairwell through Depot B. Instead of entering the stairwell, go through the door southeast of the stairwell to reach the Cave Shelter.
Go east, then north to re-enter the Galleries. Now, it's a straight shot north to reach Depot A. In the corner of this room, you'll find a corpse wearing the Gas Mask.
Take the Gas Mask and equip it immediately, as the room will fill with gas as soon as the Gas Mask is obtained. Having the Gas Mask equipped will grant immunity to all poison gas, but your stamina will drain faster.
How To Solve The Galleries Combination Lock
There's a note next to the lock that reads "C,A,B,D." Each letter corresponds to one of the symbols on the lock, so your goal is to figure out which symbols each letter matches with.
Head west into the West Works area. Here, there are three ladders leading up to rooms that each contain an item. The items found in each room represents a symbol on the combination lock.
Each room also contains a sign with two words. The first letter in the second word will start with A, B, C, or D. This letter on the sign matches with the item in the room.
So, if the medal is in the room with a sign that reads "Casemate Celestin," you'll enter the medal as the first symbol on the lock. Continue this process for each room in the West Works, then head up the stairs in the East Works for the final letter and item.
Combining all of this information reveals that the code for the lock is Medal, Soldier, Lion, Sword. You'll now have access to the Latrines, where you can obtain another Lockpick.
