As soon as you queue up for your first game of Concord, you'll quickly realize that all the basic characters are already unlocked from the start and you can pick from any of them as long as none of your teammates already have. One of the most fun Freegunners out of all these is Kyps.

Not only is she one of the most mobile characters, but also has the ability to confuse the enemy team with her cloak and easily get to the back line. If used correctly, Kyps can easily change the outcome of the battle in your favor.

Kyps Abilities, Explained

When you first take a look at Kyps' kit, she might seem a bit underwhelming since she only has one pistol as a weapon, which shoots at short bursts and runs out of ammo quite fast. However, her abilities are the main part of her kit and you'll mostly be relying on them to get value from her:

Ability Name

Type

Description

Surveillance Trap

Active Ability

You can throw this trap in the direction you're looking and it'll attach itself to a wall or the floor. When an enemy comes within the radius of this trap, it gets triggered and reveals their aura.

The trap can stay between different rounds as long as you're playing Kyps and it can be interacted with once it has revealed the enemies to get charges for Disruption Grenade.

Disruption Grenade

Active Ability

This can be thrown at an enemy to prevent their ability usage for a few seconds and damage their shields, if they have any. It also resets your dodge cooldown.

Active Stealth

Passive Ability

Whenever Kyps performs a dodge action, she becomes invisible for a few seconds and can't be tracked by any tracking ability.

Lookout

Passive Ability

If you're defeated, your entire team can see the aura of the enemy who defeated you for a few seconds.

If you don't use Kyps as the main character, she can provide you with a reload speed bonus after the first use.

Best Crew Bonuses For Kyps

Getting crew bonuses stacked up for your main unit is one of the main aspects of Concord, especially if you're playing round-based modes where you only have limited uses for each Freegunner Variant. Here are the buffs you should stack on Kyps before using her:

  • Faster dodge cooldown
  • Improved mobility
  • Longer weapon range
  • Faster reload speed (given by Kyps)

While it's better to stack as many crew bonuses as possible, the ones mentioned above are the most important for Kyps.

Tips To Play As Kyps

After understanding the basics of Kyps, it's also important to know a few tricks that'll help you get more value in battle. This is especially true for this unit since you might not find her that good if you use her like you'd use most characters.

  • Kyps is not a character that you can take head-on battles with since most enemies, even support units, can defeat you if they hit their shots. The idea is to ambush an enemy and distract them from your team.
  • You can reset your dodge cooldown with the Disruption Grenade ability and by coming out of stealth by hitting an enemy. It's highly recommended to shoot the enemy a bit and go back into stealth as fast as possible.
  • While the game says that you turn completely invisible in your stealth, the enemies can still see you when you come too close. Moreover, your footsteps are still audible when you're running around in stealth mode.
  • It's important to place your Surveillance Traps in doorways and small hallways since the enemy has a higher chance of going through them.
