Once you have repaired your ship in the Far Spindle, you'll be able to travel somewhat freely. One of the first locations open to you Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is The Flotsam Station. This space station is definitely on the smaller side, but you're going to need to visit it in order to complete the "Diagnose Your Frame" Drive.

While you are here diagnosing your frame, you may as well check out the sites. Flotsam is the place to grab scrap metal, its Stranded Rig contract will get you a few easy Engine Components, and the station itself will sell you valuable parts that aren't available elsewhere at this point in the game. In order to encounter Jean-Mi you'll need to complete the Flotsam Explorer objective. You'll now engage in a brief dialogue where the conclusion will be that you need to go to Helion Gate. This will help advance the Diagnose Your Frame Drive.

Stranded Rig Contract

This is a pretty chill little contract. After purchasing the Stranded Rig contract from The Narrow Escape, you'll fly out and meet the grumps Alma and her floating pile of junk. There are only two sections to this area: Alma's Rig And The Ruined Facility. You'll complete the contract by completing the "Alma's Girl" objective in Alma's Rig. Your reward for completing this contract will be the four pieces of scrap you scavenge from the "Gather Scrap" option in the Ruined Facility and the two Engine Components you earn in the "Component Search". There's no time limit, so as long as you have a healthy amount of supplies, this will be a hassle-free job.

This contract gives Bliss a pretty healthy amount of character development. So, you'll want to take them with you. Their skillset is perfect for this mission, of course, but also because it advances their story.
