The first season of The Last of Us was record-breaking. With all the events and characters from the first game, and some new ones too, it wasn't hard to see why people fell in love with Joel and Ellie's story.

It doesn't end there though. There are more seasons to come, and with more seasons come new enemies, characters, and more heartbreak. In a world as diverse as The Last of Us, there are plenty of characters whose stories can be told. But, which of these characters from the second game would we like to see from this next season of the TV series?

10 Lev

Outcast of the Seraphites, Lev is one of the more critical people we need to see when it comes to Abby's side of the story.

Abby's emotional connection with him shows her own morals and care in the wake of her attack against Joel and Ellie. How the show's directors will choose to tackle Lev as a character, or the Seraphites for that matter, is to be seen; but it will be interesting for sure.

9 JJ

Dina and Ellie's son in the second game. While he isn't a big part in the game, the connection to him and Dina is pivotal for Ellie's decision-making in the second part of the series.

It will be interesting to see how faithful they stay to the core game when it comes to JJ and his relationship with Ellie, Dina, and Jesse for that matter. How it is portrayed will affect more than just a few characters in the series.

8 Jesse

Speaking of Jesse, we will need to see him too at some point in the next part of the show as well. Dina's ex and headstrong survivor in the Jackson community, his life and death impact the rest of the survivors greatly.

His role could be pivotal and bringing Ellie and Abby closer in proximity to one another and add more fuel to the fire of revenge between them.

7 Yara

Yara is another supporting character from the second game that will do a lot of heavy lifting story-wise.

There are a lot of questions when it comes to seeing her character in the next seasons of the series. Will Lev and her connection remain the same? Will she sustain the same injuries? What of her own backstory? All is to be seen, but her addition to the series would be a good one.

6 Manny

From Abby's team in the WLF, there are a handful of important figures that should make the jump from game to series.

Manny is just one of those characters. His relationship with Abby and the rest of the WLF survivors is important to see how the group operates on the West Coast and deals with one another, not to mention any threat to their group.

5 Nora

Another key member of the WLF and Abby's squad. Nora has a few important scenes in the game that would be amazing to see carried over into the show.

None of us can forget that thrilling chase between her and Ellie in the hospital or that chilling scene of her showing all the bodies Ellie is leaving in her wake on the hunt for Abby. She will play an important part in showing the differences between Ellie and Abby.

4 Seraphite Hammer Wielder

While not named, there were few enemies as intimidating as the Seraphite cultists with the large two-handed hammers.

They definitely make the list for characters to see in the next addition to the series for sheer intimidation and horror. Seeing Ellie or Abby having to face off against one of these bruisers one-on-one would be an amazing fight sequence and show just how brutal the Scars can be.

3 The Rat King

Perhaps the biggest and most gruesome boss in the series, and arguably the purest embodiment of the cordyceps infection itself.

The Rat King is an amalgamation of a handful of infected bodies all flesh-fused into one large intimidating monster. Even with the change from spores to tendrils, seeing this monster is a must for the next seasons. Anyone who has played the second game knows this creature on sight and has a story about them fighting it.

2 Dina

Ellie's love interest in the second game. While they have a tumultuous relationship, it is that relationship that makes the second game what it is in the face of losing Joel.

Her and JJ are the last connections Ellie has, and the choice she makes in leaving them to fight Abby is the focal point of the second installment of the game. It would be almost impossible to tell the same story without her.

1 Abby

The second game's antagonist, but also its protagonist in some ways. Either way, she is the force opposite to Ellie's own, and her actions kick off the entire story of the second game.

Fueled by Joel's actions at the end of the first game. Abby has to be the next big character in the series. She shows the direct consequences of the choices made in the first game, and how far those choices can ripple out from there.
