Or should we say, for the cassette? You know, to get hip with the game's vibe. No? Sorry, then. Anyway, below you'll find everything there is to know about Cassette Beasts' Version 1.2 update, and why you should go download it posthaste!
What's In The Cassette Beasts 1.2 Update?
The big news for those of us who have been working hard to capture every creature is the arrival of eight new monsters. That's right, we're getting eight brand-new species! Let's go over them all, shall we?
- Pinbolt, a new remaster option for Boltam. Previously, Boltam could only remaster into Plasmantler. To receive Pinbolt instead, choose the 'incredible speed' branch rather than 'unreleting force'.
- Diveberg, a new remaster option for Diveal. Your precious Diveals will still remaster into Scubalrus under normal conditions. Equipping them with Ice Stickers at the time of remaster now grants them this new form.
- Adeptile, a new remaster option for Salamagus. Equip yours with a Magic Tome Sticker for this fresh outcome.
- Trapwurm and its remaster Wyrmaw, Earth-type monsters. Notably, they leap out to initiate battles rather than being presented in sprite form throughout the overworld.
- Ferriclaw and its remaster Auriclaw, Metal-type monsters shaped like spiders who wear death masks. Nifty.
- Picksie, another Earth-type. It can be found at the Marshland Caves, but will flee at the sight of you. Don't worry - you can find it elsewhere throughout New Wirral thereafter.
The fun doesn't stop there. A hidden location has been added to Cassette Beasts. To find it, speak with NPCs at Harbourtown with those telltale quest-giver question marks above their heads. It's entirely possible some are still waiting on you to do other stuff; soon enough, one will surely point you in the direction of a recently-discovered mine.
Additionally, ten new moves have been introduced. Update 1.2 also provides much-needed performance upgrades for the Nintendo Switch version. Previously, well, let's just say... there was substantial room for improvement.
Will There Be Online Multiplayer?
At the time of writing, Cassette Beasts lacks online multiplayer (though it sports some excellent co-op options). But there's good news! Online multiplayer is presently in development. Oh, happy times. Bytten Studio hasn't been hush-hush on the features we'll find:
- Up to eight players at once
- Tape-trading, at last!
- Online battles that let you customize the rules to your liking
- Fight those menacing Rogue Fusions together as a team
We don't know when Cassette Beasts will integrate online multiplayer. The devs want us to understand this is a hefty endeavor. It could be a while, but we reckon it'll be worth the wait.
