Gigs in Cyberpunk 2077 aren’t exactly known for their difficulty, but there are a few that will give you a run for your eddies. Usually, the difficulty depends on your playstyle. If you’re running and gunning, it tends to be a walk in the park. But stealth gigs? Sneeze at the wrong time, and you’ll have to reload a save or live with the consequences.

Some gigs require paying attention to details, like shards. If you’re rushing, you may miss out on crucial information – and get paid less as a result. Cyberpunk 2077 is a complex world where every gig presents an interesting story and challenge. So, what are the hardest gigs – the ones that will truly test your mettle?

Remember, gigs and side jobs are two different things.

10 Dirty Biz

Type

Thievery

Fixer

Regina Jones

District

Watson, Northside

Enemies

Maelstrom

The infamous Dirty Biz gig. This is one of those slices of the game that just stick with you. It’s not exactly a nail-biter in terms of difficulty, though. Just a bunch of Maelstrom goons you’ve got to handle. Like any gig, there are multiple options on how to tackle it. What makes it tricky? Well, you’ve got to pay attention.

Read the shards and the computer files to uncover the grim truth behind this place. Doing so will likely impact your decision-making when you reach the end and confront the father and son about their business. If you choose to take matters into your own hands, get ready for some top-notch voice acting.

9 A Lack Of Empathy

Close

Type

Agent Saboteur

Fixer

Dino Dinovic

District

City Center, Corpo Plaza

Enemies

Animals

A Lack of Empathy takes place in Empathy, a nightclub, a haven for the Animals gang. Your task? You’ll have to slip past enemies unnoticed, leaving your guns at the door. Literally. Well, unless you find another way inside. Easy-peasy, right? Not quite. Luckily, there’s no shortage of approaches to take.

You’ll have to navigate the nightclub while keeping a low profile, making sure you don’t get caught, and upload malware to the club’s server. This gig will test your patience and ability to stay undetected in the hornet’s nest. You could go guns blazing, but that would fail the optional objective.

8 Serious Side Effects

Type

Search and Recover

Fixer

Muamar Reyes

District

Santa Domingo, Arroyo

Enemies

6th Street

Serious Side Effects quickly spirals into an all-out brawl. You’ll have to enter the Dewdrop Inn and watch your six, especially the doors and corners, as you make your way forward. Your goal? Find the Beta Acid Container, which has been stolen by the 6th Street gang – and they’re never the type to turn down a shootout.

Be ready to get up close and personal for this one. Make sure to pack close-combat weaponry.

7 Monster Hunt

Close

Type

Gun for Hire

Fixer

Regina Jones

District

Watson, Kabuki

Enemies

Tyger Claws

Monster Hunt sounds straightforward, but it’s anything but. Your job is to track down Jotaro Shobo and kill him. Simple, right? For the most part, yes. But he’s guarded by a whole crew of Tyger Claws, so expect a real scrap. There’s also a tower turret on the third floor. Don’t let it catch you off-guard.

Cyberpunk 2077: All Iconic Tech Weapons, Ranked And How To Get Them

Tech weapons are some of the best in CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 — today, we're ranking the best of the iconic selections.

Posts

As always, Cyberpunk 2077 is all about the choices you make. If you don’t want to deal the final blow, you don’t have to. You can take down Jotaro non-lethally and hand him to the Mox.

6 Psychofan

Type

Thievery

Fixer

Sebastian Ibarra

District

Heywood, The Glen

Enemies

No Enemies

Stealth and thievery – the bread and butter of hard gigs. It’s all about staying sharp and keeping your eyes peeled, not getting caught. In Psychofan, you're tasked with breaking into Gaston Slayton's pad on the 17th floor. Getting inside will test your problem-solving skills – and your patience.

Once you’re in, you can relax. You don’t need to worry about getting caught. However, the gig isn’t done, and you’ll have to channel your inner detective to track down the guitar and find the code to gain access to it. Take some time to look around, too. There’s a lot of Samurai memorabilia to see. And to find. Like the iconic clothing item, Johnny’s Pants.

5 We Have Your Wife

Type

SOS: Merc Needed

Fixer

Wakako Okada

District

Westbrook, Japantown

Enemies

Tyger Claws

We Have Your Wife is a grab-and-rescue operation. Saving Lauren Costigan, Bradley Costigan’s wife, is your mission. Bradley ticked off the Tyger Claws and, well, this is how they solve problems. You’re diving headfirst into a warehouse swarming with enemies.

Sneaking into the warehouse seems the logical choice, but going in guns blazing is on the table, too. Just make sure you dispose of the Tiger Claws quickly. The last thing you want is for Lauren to catch a stray bullet, especially since you’ll have to escort her out of the warehouse to the extraction point. In one piece, of course.

4 Hippocratic Oath

Type

SOS: Merc Needed

Fixer

Regina Jones

District

Watson, Northside

Enemies

Maelstrom

Hippocratic Oath is another rescue mission, but not as high-stakes as the last one. Brace yourself for a run-in with the ruthless Maelstrom gang, always thirsting for blood. Be on the lookout for cameras if you’re going in stealthily. Take out any Maelstrom members you come across.

When you track down Lucy, you’ll find her trying to save a badly-wounded Maelstrom member. So, what’s tricky about this gig? It’s all about the call you make. Squeeze the trigger or hold back? Sure, the guy probably has it coming, but he’s not shooting back at you, so it’s not your first instinct to kill him there and then. It’s a moral conundrum. After all, Cyberpunk 2077 is all about choices. Luckily, Lucy will go along with you no matter what you decide.

3 On A Tight Leash

Type

Gun for Hire

Fixer

Sebastian Ibarra

District

Heywood, Wellsprings

Enemies

Valentinos

On a Tight Leash is without a doubt one of the toughest gigs in Night City. Your mission is to track down José Luis, but the bus depot where he’s located is crawling with trigger-happy Valentinos. They’re all over the compound like roaches.

If you’re playing it by the book, there’s an optional goal to do. And it’s hard. Really hard. You have to find out why the NCPD dropped the investigation into a police officer’s death. How? By sneaking around, scanning all the right things, going through computers, and even eavesdropping. On top of that, when Padre calls, you have to tell the truth. A lot of things need to fall into place to do the job right.

2 Flying Drugs

Type

Agent Saboteur

Fixer

Dakota Smith

District

Badlands, Red Peaks

Enemies

Wraiths

Flying Drugs is a big challenge. You’re dealing with a heavily fortified location, brimming with Wraiths, automated turrets, and surveillance cameras. Your task is to destroy the antenna, but reaching it won’t be easy. You’ll have to deal with a sea of enemies first. If you’re looking to test out your brand-new cyberware and weaponry in an all-out brawl – this is the perfect gig for you.

That said, there’s also a way to wrap things up in just a few seconds. If you’re a netrunner, you can take control of the camera surveillance system and initiate overload on the antenna. Just like that. But you’ll miss out on the action, though. Still, this is the perfect example of numerous unique and creative approaches you can find while doing gigs in Cyberpunk 2077.

1 Hacking The Hacker

Type

Agent Saboteur

Fixer

Muamar Reyes

District

Santa Domingo, Arroyo

Enemies

6th Street

In Hacking the Hacker, you go up against the 6th Street gang. The battleground? A megabuilding. Your objective is clear. Upload a virus to a netrunner’s computer. However, there’s also an optional objective for extra eddies. And that’s killing Lucius – which might be tricky. As always, the hardest gigs have optional tasks. There’s no room for error.

There’s a stealth path you can take. Or you can go in guns blazing. Each comes with its own set of risks, but if you plan and figure out an optimal route, you can make life easier for yourself.
