Cyberpunk 2077 Player Realises You Can't Enter Dogtown In A Police Car

Summary
- One year on from Phantom Liberty's launch, a Cyberpunk 2077 player has found a new secret - Dogtown won't let you in if you're in a cop car.
- Instead, the main entrance closes, and you're sworn at by security.
Cyberpunk 2077's first and only expansion Phantom Liberty launched just over a year ago, and yet players are still finding secrets in the new area it added to the game. As one fan has just discovered, Dogtown takes its anti-NYPD philosophy very seriously, and won't actually let you enter if they think you're a cop.
I just tried it and, true enough, you'll get turned away at the door if you try to enter Dogtown in an NYPD car. A message even flashes up on the gate, calling you an NCPIG, which is fair enough.
Dogtown Doesn't Let You In If They Think You're A Cop
This was discovered by CVirus over in the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit, and yes, this is the case in the game. It's an impressive detail considering very few players are likely to try and enter Dogtown in this way - there's no way to store cars that you steal in the game, so you'll have to be able to nick a police car without getting caught. If you do get caught and have the police chasing you when you get to the border, then Dogtown security will turn hostile too - speaking from experience here.
However, if you manage to get your wanted level down, then you can rock up to the Dogtown entrance again... only to be denied entry and given that polite message you can see above. They don't even attack you, they just insult you. Have to respect the dedication to their ideals there.
Dogtown was a new area of Night City, made accessible in the Phantom Liberty expansion. It's relatively small, but incredibly detailed, hence why players are still finding secrets more than a year after it was added to the game.
Phantom Liberty was well received by fans and critics when it launched last year, making it a nice change after the base game's disastrous launch. However, lead quest designer Paweł Sasko previously told us that Phantom Liberty's success "coulstatic.aayyy.com/topic/dn/'t have been possible" without the feedback from the initial launch, so lessons were learned.
