Official PlayStation Account Posts About Bloodborne, Gets Everyone's Hopes Up

Summary
- The Italian PlayStation account on Instagram just posted some Bloodborne screenshots.
- The post is tagged #PS5, despite the game only launching on PS4.
- While it almost definitely means nothing, fans are nonetheless hoping a PS5 port will be announced.
Gamescom is upon on, which means 'tis the season for Bloodborne port rumours. This time, we don't have anyone actually claiming this is going to happen, but we have the next best thing - an absolute scrap of acknowledgement from PlayStation.
As spotted in the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, the Italian PlayStation account on Instagram just posted about Bloodborne out of nowhere. Better yet, the post was tagged #PS5, even though the game launched on PS4. Of course, this could just be a mistake - or a social media employee messing with us - but it's something.
PlayStation Account Mentions Bloodborne, Tags Post With #PS5
You can play Bloodborne on PS5 right now, it will just be the PS4 version of the game, complete with all of its limitations. Even as Bloodborne now inches closer to its tenth birthday, Sony hasn't even hinted that the beloved exclusive is going to get a port that makes the most of modern hardware.
So, while many fans are aware that getting excited about the Instagram post is pure cope, it's something, at least. And who knows? Gamescom's Opening Night Live showcase is this Tuesday, so... maybe? Probably not. But, maybe?

A spiritual successor could take the idea of Bloodborne even further.
Posts 1It's worth mentioning that this isn't the first scrap of Bloodborne PS5 port news we've had this year. As we reported last month, PlayStation Stars users noticed that Bloodborne: The Old Hunters - DLC for the base game - was listed as a PS5 release. This had some fans wondering if a port was planned, although nothing has come of it since, and it's very possible that this listing was a mistake.
As for the long-awaited PC port, news on that is nonexistent. There are an awful lot of fans who would love the chance to play the game on PC, but it doesn't look like that's happening anytime soon. For now, though, we don our clown makeup for Gamescom and see what happens.
