Update 18/08: More sources have come forward, claiming to have seen the document in question. GLHF claims to have acquired it and confirmed its authenticity, and reports that it came from Hero Games, Black Myth: Wukong's co-publisher.

Paul Tassi from Forbes says he has also acquired the document from a creator in the US. Another French YouTuber, Nostal Geek, also says they were sent this list of restrictions. Our original report follows.

Black Myth: Wukong developer Game Science is reportedly trying to ban content creators from discussing certain topics in exchange for game codes.

In a leaked document, which at least one content creator has publicly stated they received from Game Science, there is a "do's and dont's" section, telling those who receive a code what they cannot discuss in their content. Here, the document informs those with Black Myth: Wukong codes that they cannot include "politics" and "feminist propaganda" in their coverage of the game, among other topics.

Game Science Reportedly Bans Content Creators From Discussing Feminism In Black Myth: Wukong Coverage

Journalist Don Parsons reported on this document earlier today, saying that he had talked with content creators who received this agreement. Parsons specifically names the French YouTube channel, ExServ, which also shared the agreement in a YouTube video.

Following this, a Google Doc containing this apparent agreement was shared on Reddit. Here, it's claimed that the document was received by journalists, but this was not included in the review code agreement that we received. If this document is legitimate, it seems that it was instead sent out to content creators and was not attached to review codes.

With that said, Parsons reports that this document was not part of a sponsored content agreement either, making it more concerning that Game Science would allegedly try to influence the coverage of the game.

While this document is yet to be verified, it would not be the first time that Game Science has found itself at the centre of controversy. Back in November of last year, several social media posts from Black Myth: Wukong developers were brought to light, many full of misogynistic comments.

In one instance, a lead is said to have written that men and women play different games because of "biological conditions", following up his comment by writing: "**** sissies, **** tragic love stories, **** moon-lit peach blossoms and flute-playing scholars! [...] Some things are just for men, their depression, their anger, their pain...".

The studio is also said to have shared job recruitment posters that boasted "friends with benefits" as a job perk. Another was reported to have read, "Fatties should **** off."

Black Myth: Wukong is set to launch on August 20.
