Biomutant’s content has been drawing a lot of attention, especially in the open-world aspect. You’ll be exploring at your leisure within minutes of starting the game. There are many environments to visit and a lot of creatures to encounter from free-roaming.

However, the game will flood your journal with various optional quests that will take you to the farthest corners of the map. These quests are too easy to find by talking to NPCs or simply by running into them by chance. Many of them follow established formulas, but some of them are more interesting and entertaining than others.
Updated on December 11, 2022, by William Quick: Despite a slow start, Biomutant has continued to update and introduce changes that have been received well among players. Whether you're returning or starting fresh, these side quests are worth seeking out.
13 Chase The Mirage Quest
One of the more alluring types of questing is that which reveals a character’s background. There are many protagonists whose history is revealed piecemeal through gameplay and progression. In Biomutant, the hero’s origins are vague, with most of the story missions dedicated to the usual “Save The World” agenda.

However, you’ll start encountering a large panda-like creature wielding a lantern. It will appear randomly, and by interacting with it, you’ll experience a flashback where the hero faces off against one of their childhood bullies. Win or lose, the reward is, oddly, an Automaton upgrade. Each encounter is a fun and challenging fight that makes you feel some sympathy for the hero.
12 Find The Suits Quest
As is the tradition in post-apocalyptic games, the overworld is made up of various hazards. The Biomutant world has multiple regions scattered about that employ different types of danger. These include classic elements like hot and cold to science-based ones like toxins and radiation. Though you can outfit your hero to some resistance to each, too much time in a concentrated area will quickly drain health.
By doing this quest, you can tune different satellite dishes to locate facilities where different hazard suits are located. Not only does this take you to different parts of the world, but it rewards you with colorful and protective full-body suits.
11 Captives Quest
A staple of any adventure is the act of rescuing people. While Biomutant asks you to rescue everyone from impending doom, you can also do this on a smaller scale. By exploring the world, you’ll soon come across captives being held in cages. They’re almost always guarded by a gang of bandits or monstrous creatures that need to be vanquished.

After rescuing them, they’ll show gratitude and ask for additional help. Your response will earn you light or dark points and the encounter will reward you with a psi-point. It’s a long-form quest that takes you all over and can quickly cement your morality while allowing you to purchase different psi-powers.
10 Cleaning Up Quest
You can’t go into any post-apocalyptic game without running into bandits sooner or later. When society breaks down, there are going to be those who immediately take to leather and scrap metal. It’s no different in Biomutant, where bandit gangs have become a firm establishment. There are bandit camps around the world; each houses some grunts, a pet, and the big boss.
This quest asks you to make the world a better and safer place by visiting each of these camps and clearing out the riff-raff. It’s a combat-based activity that feels satisfying and yields valuable rewards.
9 Twinkle Crash Site Quest
When you start up Biomutant, everything will seem strange to you. After a few missions, you'll learn what's normal weird and what's double weird, which is where this quest comes into play. As you visit villages and characters, events will unfold in the background. An unforgettable one will be watching as a meteor falls out of the sky and crashes somewhere in the overworld. NPCs will naturally be panicked, but you'll be curious.
The quest revolves around following the trail of the meteor in order to find it landed. The path will lead you across various areas and swarms of bad guys trying to slow you down, but it's worth it to find this twinkle meteor so that you can reap the rewards and challenges of its impact.
8 Follow The Trail Quest
When dropped into a vast and mysterious world, it’s only natural to want to explore it. Biomutant provides a huge play area; most of it is accessible from the moment you start playing. In addition to all the nature, there are a lot of old structures to be found.
You’ll come across a lot of old towns, large buildings, and underground passages. Some of them will draw your attention by setting you on a trail. By following this quest to the end, you’ll travel winding paths as you find puzzles, treasures, and monsters to defeat.
7 End Of The Rainbow Quest
In terms of post-apocalyptic worlds, the Biomutant one is still very fresh and vibrant. Even though it's filled with a tone of dangerous mutants and vicious gangs, there is still plenty of natural beauty to enjoy and appreciate. Part of this world that stands out is the rainbow that streaks across the sky, and you'll be prompted to follow it all the way to the end.
Straight out of a fairytale, you'll literally be following the road below the rainbow (a rainbow road, if you will) to find out where it goes. This is both a charming and magical quest that yields a satisfying reward while also getting you to explore areas you may not come across on your own.
6 Old World Gadgets Quest
An effective way to establish the passing of time is by having recognizable items in a different context. After an apocalypse occurs, many items fall into obscurity because they have no survival value. While wandering around Biomutant, you’ll find various objects, from microwaves to globes to guitars.

Each one has a new quirky name and comes with its own puzzle. By solving each of them, you’ll get experience; some of them will even yield treasure. It’s an entertaining scavenger hunt that prods your mind.
5 Automaton Noticeboards Quest
A question that always pops into one's mind when playing games like Biomutant is, “What happened to this world?”. It’s easy to jump to the usual suspects of warfare and over-industrialization, but sometimes it’s not that simple. The best chance you have of understanding how the world changed is your Automaton, a salvaged robotic companion.
By traveling around and reading noticeboards, you can trigger your Automaton’s memory. From suburbs to factories, you can find out what used to be and how it came to its current state. It’s an explorative quest that helps add richness to the world and story.
4 Old World Storage and Vaults Quest
The promise of treasure is one of the most attractive offers a quest can have. As soon as you learn that there are sealed bunkers hidden around, you will want to find each one. With most of them being built into the ground itself, the bunkers have a lot of mystique about them. However, if getting treasure were easy, it wouldn’t be as valuable.
That’s why many of the bunkers are guarded by large monsters that have made their nest in them. By slaying these beasts and harvesting the bunker key, getting that treasure will feel all the more worthwhile.
