It's been announced by Ubisoft that Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition will finally launch next week, with pre-orders for a physical version by Limited Run opening next month.

Beyond Good & Evil's 20th Anniversary Edition has been one of the worst kept secrets in gaming, with Xbox listing and then delisting the title in November last year, and various ESRB ratings further proving its existence. Even Ubisoft couldn't help goofing up its eventual reveal, tweeting the release date announcement before it was officially shown off during the Limited Run showcase that took place earlier today.

Thankfully, the only thing that matters is that the title finally has a release date now, and it's a lot sooner than most of us probably expected. Announced by Ubisoft earlier today, Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition will launch on all platforms on June 25th next week, and the title will include various improvements that build on the original, such as a stable 60 frames per second, improved graphics, and a new mission that ties the game narratively to the sequel.

Ubisoft had some good news for fans of physical media too, as it was confirmed during this year's Limited Run showcase that Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition will be getting a physical release and a collector's edition on all platforms as well, with pre-orders opening on July 12. Sure, you might have to wait 6 months for it to actually arrive, but at least a limited physical copy is better than no physical copy at all.

Now, if Ubisoft could go ahead and actually give us an update on Beyond Good & Evil 2, that'd be swell. It's been a while since we've heard of the title, with Ubisoft last showing the game off in public in 2018. It's been pretty much radio silence since then, with the odd statement from the publisher promising people that the game isn't dead just yet, but we're still waiting for that elusive release date.
