Trivia and quiz games are great ways to feel satisfied with what you know and learn new things you never even thought to consider. It’s a fun icebreaker when you’re playing with others, but it’s also enjoyable on your own. There’s simply something special about finally getting rewarded for knowing that niche bit of info you never have a real reason to bring up in other settings.

It might be easy to think that Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is the only option for scratching that trivia itch, but there are tons of great titles on Steam that are much more well-optimized for the platform. Whether it’s for game night with pals or you’re just looking to pass the time by, here are some of the best trivia and quiz games on Steam.
7 You Don’t Know Jack
Before Jackbox Games created the Jackbox Party Pack we all know and love, they hit things off in the ‘90s with the You Don’t Know Jack series. It uses the same humor and wacky narrator that fans of the franchise have come to know but puts it into an unapologetically ‘90s package.
Steam offers a You Don’t Know Jack Classic Pack with all four original volumes and a bunch of category-specific DLCs. It also has Vol. 6, which brings in all the noughties trivia you could imagine. Because it’s a rerelease of an older game, expect some questions to be dated. If you love Friends, the Spice Girls, PalmPilots, and Stuffed Crust Pizza, this should be right up your alley.
6 Trivia Tricks
Despite being an Early Access title, Trivia Tricks is already a pretty well-rounded trivia game that is loads of fun to play with friends. You can play both co-op and competitive modes, so it’s up to you what kind of game you want to get into.

The base game already has tons of questions to satiate your quizzing needs, but it gets even more customizable because you can add packs from the Steam Workshop. Character creation adds a little extra fun, and you can also play using Remote Play. Trivia Tricks is, overall, a bag of treats.
5 Trivia Throwdown
Trivia Throwdown turns brains to brawn as you answer questions that let you beat up your opponents in matches. The more you know, the more you win. If you ever wanted to Slay the Spire with your mind, this is the game to boot up.
You get to pick different mountains to overcome, which each represent a level of difficulty. There are also two-player matches you can jump into if you just want a quick tussle. If you want more global topics, there is also a filter you can toggle that changes how many American topics get put into the mix.
4 It’s Quiz Time
What makes It’s Quiz Time stand out is not just its clever A.I. host, Salli. Various rounds can have different mechanics, so it never feels like it’s just more of the same. On top of that, the smartphone integration gives you a lot more flexibility in terms of playstyle.
Because the A.I. host reacts to your input, the game feels more personalized as you continue to play. It also manages to avoid being too US-centric with its questions, meaning you can play with friends across the globe without anyone feeling particularly left out. That said, its Twitch feature tends to be spotty. If you’re just streaming for fun or hosting a game with friends, it’s intuitive and enjoyable right away.
3 The Jackbox Party Starter
The Jackbox Party Starter brings in the modern goodness of the Party Packs but only features Trivia Murder Party 2, Quiplash 3, and Tee K.O. It comes with tons of localized voice options and more comprehensive content filters (in case you’re playing with family.)

The other included games are a fun way to switch things up, but Trivia Murder Party 2 is already heaps of entertainment on its own. It features plenty of its own mini-games, with new features that make every player feel more competitive and have more to lose. Anyone with a web browser can join your game, so you can play remotely, in person with friends and family, or in a streaming community.
2 Papa’s Quiz
If you’re looking for a quirky little quiz game that you can enjoy with up to seven other players, then look no further than Papa’s Quiz. You get to create goofy avatars, dance around after every round, and answer fun questions in a wide range of categories.
Getting the game started is very simple, and it’s one of the cheaper titles you can find without a dip in quality. If you just want a straight-up trivia match, you can go for the Quick Game mode. That takes away from what makes Papa’s Quiz so funny, especially if you’re playing with different age groups.
1 Majotori
Unlike other quiz games on Steam, Majotori is exclusively a single-player experience. That shouldn’t stop you from playing it with some friends as a co-op adventure, but the great thing about the game is how it takes you on a journey that is fully dependent on how much you can answer correctly.
There are tons of stories and endings you can get, which branch out depending on your answers. It’s a lot of fun, full of heart and humor, slightly dark, and highly replayable.
