The most popular MMORPG is still World of Warcraft. The twenty-year-old videogame is in perhaps the healthiest state it has been in the past decade. World of Warcraft: Classic is thriving so much that there are now two different game versions simultaneously, one with expansions, and one without.

How Many People Play World Of Warcraft?

World of Warcraft is a household name in terms of MMORPGs. How many people are playing this game though?

Posts

World of Warcraft: Classic Hardcore took Twitch by storm and Season of Discovery was received extremely well by the community, with the biggest realms ever created by Blizzard. Not only are all versions of the game well populated, so are their respective forums! Whether you want someone to play with, information about quests, or class guides, this list has you covered.

All of these forums are equally useful, depending on what you are looking for. With this in mind, this list is not ordered in any specific way.

8 Class Discords

Wyrmrest Temple, The Evoker Discord

Class Discords are the best options when you just want to learn more about your specialization. They usually have the most viewed guides listed with links, short summaries of your DPS rotation, and the parts of patch notes that are relevant to your class.

They're also filled with people who can help you (or that you can help)! For example: Wyrmrest Temple, the Evoker Discord seen in the image, had more than 60000 members at the time of writing this. People are usually welcoming and will answer any questions you might have.

7 Community Discords

Unofficial World Of Warcraft Discord

A more general alternative to class Discords is community ones. These can help you with more broad questions and channels and servers for pretty much anything you might need. You can find people to play with, ask questions, or share your UI and transmogs with other people.

The Discord shown in the image is the unofficial World of Warcraft one. It currently has over 110,000 people and includes a ton of channels, spanning all editions of the game (Classic and Retail). It is a very active Discord that is well-moderated.

6 Wow Subreddit

Main Page Of The Main WoW Subreddit

The main World of Warcraft subreddit is the biggest forum the game has at the moment. Created all the way back in 2008, this sub has over 2.5 million members and is extremely active. The nature of Reddit makes it more image-oriented than the Discords, but it can be used for multiple purposes.

You'll find patch notes, datamined content, memes, and discussions pretty much daily. Any and all content related to World of Warcraft can be found here, but it probably isn't the best forum to opt for if you're looking for more specific information.

5 Classic WoW Subreddit

Another massive forum is the subreddit specific to World of Warcraft: Classic. This one is a goldmine for memes related to Hardcore, Season of Discovery, and Wrath of the Lich King: Classic. There's more to it than just funny pictures, though.

Just like any other subreddit, you'll find discussions here, patch notes, and you can try your luck at asking some more general questions related to any of the Classic versions of WoW, or getting ideas for some sweet transmogs!

4 Official Blizzard Forums

The Blizzard Forums' World Of Warcraft Homepage

The official Blizzard forums for World of Warcraft have been around forever now. They were around before any of the others were even created. And, honestly, if we were to choose only one forum to be left with, this would be it.

You'll find forums in your language, discussions surrounding classes, events, and everything else you can think of. There are resources for all versions of the game, which makes these likely the most useful forums when you're looking for generalized information.

3 MMO Champion

MMO Champion's World Of Warcraft Section

MMO Champion is one of the original MMO-focused websites that is still alive and strong. It was created back in 2007 and is still one of the most active World of Warcraft forums around. It has all kinds of resources and constantly updates news about the game.

Forums are created daily with all kinds of discussions and all of them have at least some kind of activity. Much like the official Blizzard Forums, you'll find information about pretty much anything related to WoW here.

2 Icy Veins

World Of Warcraft News Section In Icy Veins

Icy Veins is a much more specialized forum than something like MMO Champion. This website is most famous for its class and specialization guides, but also includes very frequent news posts related to World of Warcraft.

You'll find resources here for Classic Hardcore, Season Of Discovery, Wrath of The Lich King Classic, and Retail WoW. There are comments under most posts and multiple forums available, so you can also discuss things with other players.

1 Wowhead

Wowhead's Homepage

Wowhead is probably the biggest World of Warcraft website around. It has very active forums on all kinds of topics, and a lot of datamined content, but it is mostly known for its guides. These can be focused on classes, achievements, quests, and anything in between.

Where Wowhead shines, though, is in its comment section. It seems like nearly every item in the game that has a Wowhead page has useful comments under it. If you're stuck in a quest, lost trying to get an achievement, chances are that there is a comment on a Wowhead page that has the answer you need.
