Video games love to stress you out with missions, objectives, and the potential end of the world. However, every now and again, you just need a good old party to unwind. Sometimes this means going to a loud club and meeting strangers, and sometimes it means gathering with friends and playing terrible minigames.

We can't always attend every real world gathering we would like to, but thankfully video games parties can be a nice escape on their own. Even if some of them end in robbery, murder, or the loss of a star, we would still love to attend these parties

7 Any Mario Party Party

Every time you load up a map in a Mario Party game, you and three other friends sign the Mushroom Kingdom crew up to having a big celebration. What are they celebrating? Stars? The beauty of random chance? Wario's mustache? Nobody really knows but Mario and friends seem to be having a good time going around and around on the same boards.

The real question is, are you having a good time? Odds are, if you set the game to 50 turns and have gotten your sixth repeat minigame two hours in, with another two hours to go, you're probably going to call a taxi and leave early.

6 A Night Out At Katana Zero's Club Neon

There are a lot of great clubs in video games, and just like real clubs, most of them are drenched in neon lights and thumping music. Katana Zero's Club Neon is no different. However, it probably shouldn't be your first choice of places to go on a night out since it is also drenched in blood by the end of the night and full of guards willing to hand out a thumping to anyone that looks out of place.

This bloody bar does get some points thanks to the killer beats DJ Electrohead is putting on for everyone. Sadly, however, that music will likely stop if you choose to kill him at the end of this mission.

5 Hosting A Nightclub Party In GTA Online

Grand Theft Auto Online was never lacking when it came to entrepreneurial opportunities. From running drugs, cars, and guns to liberating the Pacific Stand Bank of its liquid assets, there are plenty of ways to make money. However, years into GTA Online, Rockstar decided to add the ability for players to go (somewhat) legit.

Nightclub ownership is an expensive but rewarding endeavor as it gives you a customisable space to drink, dance, hang out with friends and, most importantly, party. Sadly, however, all the parties that you can host in GTA Online are pretty surface level when it comes to what you can do, and you will probably just wind up outside with five stars, shooting rockets at friends by the end of the night.

4 Wrapping Things Up At The Citadel Party In Mass Effect 3

Very few pieces of DLC are spoken of with as much love as the Citadel DLC for Mass Effect 3. An unabashed piece of fan service through and through, this expansion sees Shepard and their team take some much-needed shore leave only to discover a plan to assassinate Shepard that quickly spirals out of control.

While the DLC itself is pretty good, the best part is once you have finished the main mission and you, your crew, and some old familiar faces can finally take some time off from saving all living life to have a small shindig. This party isn't just a nice distraction but feels like a reward for all that you have been through over the three games. The party will play out differently for everyone depending on your Shepard's choices throughout the series, leading to either some heartfelt moments or awkward reunions.

3 A Late Night At Uncharted 4's Auction

The Rossi Estate might be a little bit too swanky for most people's taste, but it is hard to argue that it wouldn't be fun to be a guest at this party. This giant cliff side mansion is home to a high society auction in Uncharted 4 and the mission opening sees Nate, Sam, and Sully slip into this gala hoping to steal Henry Avery's lost cross. Once they get in the trio do actually look rather well in their tuxes, but that doesn't last long.

This party would be a great one to attend not just because I am sure the complimentary wine and food would be great, but because of the in-house entertainment, such as a dramatic power cut, witnessing a heist, and getting to watch a middle-aged man get the crap beat out of him by a lady in a killer red dress.

2 Going To The Sanguine Fashion Show In Hitman

Agent 47 is a master assassin, but sometimes even he needs to unwind and relax. Just kidding, no, he doesn't. But he often finds himself hunting his victims at fun parties anyway. There have been several memorable parties in the Hitman universe, including several masquerade parties for the elite, a kid's birthday with the world's worst clown, a wine retreat in Argentina, and an underground German nightclub. But, by far, the most memorable is Viktor Novikov's Sanguine fashion show in Paris.

This party has everything: a bald hitman constantly throwing coins on the floor, a giant unsecured hanging chandelier over a runway and a crowd of people, and a secret evil IAGO meeting of the minds. Most importantly, however, this party is the only place in town you can meet the German supermodel, Helmut Kruger. Truly, this is a party to die for.

1 Hitching A Ride With Voldimir To The Witcher 3's Wedding

Voldimir von Everec might be a murderer, a cheat, a sleazebag, a thief, and a body invading nuisance, but you can't deny he's also one hell of a party guest. Following a series of missions, you playing as Geralt, being controlled by Voldimir (it's complicated) attend a wedding with Shani. From here you help von Everec enjoy one last night of human delights by getting extremely drunk, getting into fights, befriending an old lady, and even going skinny-dipping.

However, as the party goes on, you will learn more about Voldimir and his sad life and need to be the centre of attention. The Witcher 3 never expects you forgive Voldimir for all he has done, but you do learn to at least understand why he is the way that he is. By the time the night is coming to and end and you and Shani are parting ways, you will feel bad for Voldimir. At least you were able to grant him one last night of fun before Gaunter O'Dimm came for him.
