These Steam games are pretty big.
Posts 5Arguments can be made for compressing the size of high-definition textures and audio, but for now, you may just be looking for a complete gaming experience that isn’t trying to be the only apple of your drive’s eye. Thankfully, there are quite a few stunning releases across different genres that won’t even hit 1GB upon installation. Hooray for game hoarding.
10 Orion Trail
Size Requirement: 300 MB
A hilarious space reimagining of the Oregon Trail games, Orion Trail throws you into a journey of captivating planets, ridiculous choices, and even wilder outcomes. You must manage your team of reds as a plucky captain, making your way through the trail in one piece and all your parts unmutated.
You assemble your crew from the start, face encounters, and manage your resources. It’s a fun way to while away a couple of hours strategizing, though most of the game relies on the kindness of the RNG gods. If you’re frustrated by the game’s reliance on the luck of the draw, then you may at least be placated by the hilarity of the absurd decisions you need to make in space.
9 Ib
Size Requirement: 400 MB
Ib is a classic RPG Maker title, remaining as one of the best 2D pixel horror games that showcases the potential of the platform for narrative and gameplay. The Steam remake launched in 2022 and, even with its redesigned graphics, improved screen resolution, expanded gameplay, and new music, still tops up at a humble download size of 400 megabytes.
You can get up to seven different endings, all dependent on your actions throughout the game. You’ll know you got the True Ending when you trigger a credits sequence that isn't present in other endings. This is the game that either outright spooks you or gets under your skin slowly.
8 AdventureQuest 3D
Size Requirement: 500 MB
If you’re more of an MMORPG player, then AdventureQuest 3D will scratch the itch without hoarding all of your storage space. This title is constantly updated and features crossplay, so you can play with other people even if you’re on PC, Android, or iOS. And, yes, you can even play from your browser if that’s your style. Its genre contemporaries may surpass it in many ways, but it’s amazing how robust of an experience you can get with this size.

Dead Cells
Roguelike Released August 7, 2018 Developer(s) Motion Twin Platform(s) Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One Powered by Expand CollapseA lot of hype surrounds Dead Cells, and it’s often slapped with the buzziest of genre tags like Metroidvania and Soulslite.
