Despite many questioning whether it even had a place in modern gaming, the PlayStation Portal has been so sought after since launch that it has remained sold out just about everywhere you'd hope to find it in stock. Today may well be your lucky day if you've been trying to find one for the last few months though as Best Buy appears to have the handheld PS5 accessory back in stock.
What's more, this is the first time in a long time that the Portal has remained in stock long enough for me to write about it in an attempt to inform people of its availability. Hopefully those of you who want one have seen this in time to take advantage of the restock, and you can check if you have by clicking the link in the box below.

Run down the pros and cons of the Portal and Backbone before deciding how which you'll use to play your games handheld.
PostsEven if you are seeing this a few hours after it has been published, it's still worth checking the link. Not only might this finally be the time that the Portal's supply has finally caught up with its demand, but it might also be a case of Best Buy adding new stock in batches. Sites tend to do that with in-demand products like this one to avoid the site being flooded with customers and potentially crashing.

$200 at Best Buy Expand CollapsePlayStation launched the Portal at the end of 2023 and since it can't stream games, and can only be used when connected to a strong and stable WiFi connection, many found the concept unappealing. A lot more people liked the idea, though, and I'm one of them. The biggest selling point of the Portal is the ability to play your PS5 games using a handheld device. That means playing stuff when the TV is otherwise in use, or carrying on your gaming session when you go to bed.
Even though PlayStation has implied the PS5 is already nearing the latter stages of its life cycle, it has been releasing a lot of accessories for its latest console over the last few months. Not only the Portal, but also its first set of earbuds, and the Pulse Elite Headset which will be available later this month. Likely another in-demand product, you may well want to place your pre-order now if you can still find one.
