You'll be able to explore the rest of Chalkroot Hollow and Lake Nimueh on your main path, but should you so choose, you can also take the time to explore whole new optional areas like the Giant's Basin. Whatever you choose, your adventure will be threatened by the ever-straining relationship between Cereza and her adorable demon companion.

From your talk with Morgana, run right and up to the green flower you can jump across. From here, follow the path up to a water source that you should absorb and drain.
With the water level now lowered, backtrack to descend a mushroom ladder. A lily pad nearby can be jumped on by both Cereza and Cheshire, and once both are one again, use Aquastream to propel yourself around the corner and to the north. You should follow a line of purple butterflies that you can collect to replenish Cheshire's magic.
Once you reach the far platform, jump off the pad and climb the ramp to the left.Absorb the water source at the top and then cross the pool to reach a chest with resources and a Demonic Mist inside.
With the water level lowered a second stage, return to the lily pad and travel across the pond to the nearest mushroom ladder to the south. Climb up and grow the flowers on the next ledge to give you a step up.
Take the next mushroom ladder toward the blue paw prints and follow the path across the gap to the third and final water source. Absorb, drain, and return to the lily pad.
There's nothing to collect in this area, so maneuver yourself onto the nearby large elevator platform. Use Cheshire's Aquastream in its center continuously until you reach the top.
As you step off of the elevator into this next area, you will enter an illusion field filled with faeries. Dispel the magic on them to attack, and fight your way up the leaf steps until you can enter the Tir Na Nog.
Tir Na Nog - Acceleration
This combat trial will feature several enemies with two types of shields:
- Fire
- Stone
Break them with the appropriate element and defeat the multiple waves of enemies until you are finally met with a new opponent: Mulciber.
Mulciber can create their own stony shield and has similar stats and patterns to a Bananach. This tanky enemy will require Stone Cheshire to deal with.
Once you've eliminated all of the enemies in this Tir Na Nog, collect your prize and leave.
To The Chalkroot Hollow Sanctuary
Leaving the Tir Na Nog, backtrack to the bottom tier of the pools to find a treasure chest of resources on the far right side. Collect it before climbing back up again and taking the main path to a Remembrance.
After you've interacted with the Remembrance, continue right but ignore the elevator platform for now. A group of enemies will ambush you in a wide, open area at the far end. Dispatch them and then descend the ladder.
A number of resources can be gained at the bottom, and once you've collected them, head south to take the elevator you find here.
Stepping off the elevator once it reaches the bottom, run to the right to collect a piece of Journal. Then, head to the far left side to activate a shortcut ladder down.
By now, the elevator has likely left you behind, so take the ladder down and circle back around to where you left offon the main path (near the elevator you ignored earlier).
There is a chest you can reach using the growable flower and lily pad nearby, but the path beyond it cannot be accessed without a power you do not possess yet. It is recommended to save this chest for later as it only contains resources.
Take the main elevator up and step off onto the yellow spring mushroom ahead. After admiring the pretty scene, Stomp yourself over to an area where you can find a piece of Journal to the left, a chest to the right, and your main path ahead.
After following the paw prints over the leafy platforms and across a large gap you can cross with Hug Cheshire, you'll land yourself in the familiar Chalkroot Hollow.
Backtracking For Collectibles
With Water Cheshire now on your side, several areas are now open to you for exploration. Among those is Giant's Basin - an entirely optional location.
You can decide to explore these areas now or return to them when you're ready, carrying on below to Lake Nimueh via the Leafy Nook Sanctuary.

Wisps

To claim the wisp in this section, make sure you have three Blast Cocktails in your inventory. Otherwise, you won't be able to complete the puzzle section and claim the wisp.
From the Faerieland Tower Sanctuary, travel south and turn east toward an area protected by brambles. Destroy the brambles and continue east until reaching a waterside area with a spinning contraption.
Use Aquastream to spin this contraption for extra resources before turning Cheshire to Wood mode.
Face west with Cereza and Cheshire against the shore until you can make out a platform that can be pulled with Grab.
Grab the ramp and pull it downward toward the nearby grassy hill. With Cereza jumping on, send Cheshire into the water to swim across to the far shore.
Once on the other side, transform Cheshire into Wood mode while having Cereza jump onto the second platform. Both in position, have Cheshire pull Cereza's platform toward him until she can safely jump down.
Now on the ground, notice the wisp off to the northeast. Talking with 'Bruce,' give him your three Blast Cocktails.
With your wisp now claimed, you can leave. But if you're desperately in need of resources...
There is a chest protected by a water shield just as you enter the Watchtower via the numerous Faerieland Tower shortcuts and a spring mushroom.

Tir Na Nog
x1 (In A Flash)
Traveling from the Wyvern Falls Sanctuary, head south and then to the far western shore of the Giant's Basin area. Upon reaching the shore, jump onto the nearby lily pad.
Water Cheshire can then propel you with Aquastream to the far left side of the lake area where you can jump off onto a small patch of land.
Within sight is a water source you can absorb. Absorbing this water will reveal a path downward that you should take.
Take care of the faerie that waits in ambush at the bottom corner and continue until you find a precipice.
Waiting at the edge of the precipice will reveal a rising and lowering flower that you can jump onto. Once you do, ride that flower down until it joins with another.
Jump onto the series of flowers along your way until you reach the ground at the very bottom. To your right, you'll spy a vine bridge.
Several laser turrets fire over this path. They're quick, but their firing is telegraphed, so you should time each blast before crossing.
Due to the timing, it is recommended to take each turret one at a time, even if that means taking an uncomfortable position between them. Being struck means you'll need to restart the entire crossing.
Once on the other side, you'll notice a ledge you can throw Cheshire up on. Toss Hug Cheshire up, and send both walking through the hammer flowers simultaneously. They can rejoin on the other side.
Together, use Hug Cheshire to jump across the green flower at the end onto another series of rising and lowering flowers. Again, take them to the bottom.
At the bottom, carefully take the mushroom ladder down. Beware of the two laser turrets that fire near the top and bottom of the short space.
Like with the turrets on the vine earlier, you'll want to take each one at a time. For the first, though, make sure you're already started on the ladder before climbing down to rest between the two lasers. Otherwise, the animation of climbing onto the ladder might cost you valuable time.
Past the laser turrets, maneuver yourself onto the yellow spring mushroom after taking care of the Spriggan guarding it. This will land you on an island with a growable flower.
While Cereza grows this flower, Water Cheshire should swim across to the left and transform into his Wood form on shore.Once the flower is grown, Cereza can climb onto it, and Cheshire can pull her over to his side.
From here, you can drop off the flower onto the shore to create a shortcut back south and grab a quick piece of Journal on the other side (which means you'll need to use the spring mushroom on this side to repeat the previous steps).
With Journal in hand and once again pulled over to shore by Cheshire, jump onto the rising and falling flowers. This can be a bit tricky to line up, so a good way to nail this in the first attempt is to pay close attention to the shadows on the ground. Once on the first flower, carefully jump onto the second and then the third.
In the meantime, send Cheshire up the sets of stairs to the south until he reaches a set of growable flowers.
With Cereza on the topmost ledge, grow the flowers beneath her in order to create a staircase Cheshire can use to rejoin her.
Continue ahead to find a flower you can use Witch's Pulse on to create a bridge. Cross over to finally enter the basin's heart.
Once you enter the palace area of the Giant's Basin, you can gather the Remembrance directly in front of you before entering the Sanctuary itself.
A locked puzzle chest can be found just southwest of this Sanctuary near the way. To open it:
- Use Thorn Bind and attack to start the puzzle.
- Use Thorn Bind on the distant bulbs when they fall just over the water before using Aquastream to strike them at a distance.
Once all the bulbs are dealt with, open the chest to receive several resources and a Healing Tonic.
If you don't have three Healing Tonics in your inventory already, make sure to concoct them while you're here before you continue on to the next step.
To the northwest of the puzzle chest and up a small staircase, you'll find a gazebo area with a Journal piece and a tired wisp.
The wisp, Cindy, needs three Healing Tonics in order to add her to your wisp collection. Give her the tonics and then return to the Sanctuary, concocting more tonics if needed.
From the Sanctuary, go north down the staircase to the waterfront. There are three paths to take here, and each one leads to something valuable.
The least valuable direction and easiest to reach is to the left, staying out of the water for now. Use Wood Cheshire to open the door at the end to reveal a hidden room with a treasure chest filled with lots of resources.
With the chest collected, return to the crossroads area at the bottom of the stairs. From here, have Water Cheshire retrieve the lily pad and propel Cereza to the right.
Down the right path, maneuver around the obstacles in the water until you can go north and reach a platform Cereza can jump on. Have Cereza follow the platform's road to a Moon Pearl. Once claimed, return to the crossroads.
Instead of jumping off the lily pad toward the Sanctuary at the crossroads, jump off to the north in order to climb several sets of stairs. At the very top, you'll be able to enter a Tir Na Nog and claim the very last treasure of this area.

This Time Limit trial will throw several waves of enemies at you that include shielded foes and strong faeries like Gog-Magog. Defeating each faerie will replenish a little of your time, so don't forget to take care of the small minions in the meantime.
Another risk in this trial to note are the four icy pillars that encircle this arena. Taking on this trial so early means that you won't have Fire Cheshire to get rid of these. Thankfully, however, they aren't too much of an issue.
Avoid attacking near the pillars and bait enemies out into the center. So long as you don't strike the pillars, Cheshire won't have any worries about freezing.
When all enemies are defeated, grab your prize and descend the stairs outside back to the Sanctuary to leave this area - now completed.

Vitality Petal
x1
Make sure you have at least 15 Baked Geckos (the yellow concocting material) on you before attempting this path. Otherwise, you won't be able to claim the wisp.
Talk to Colm to receive as much as one Vitality Petal in the playground.
From the Forgotten Knoll Sanctuary, return to the Hidden Path to the right of the entrance slide. Follow it to the yellow Spring Mushroom, Stomp into the next area, and return to where you previously found an Inferno Fruit.
Going past the Inferno Fruit, dip under the door ahead until you reach a ladder. To the right of this ladder is a growable flower, so grow it for some resources and then climb up.
At the top, you'll face a large fire brazier blocking your path. Put out the fire with Aquastream.
Ahead is another ladder, but take a moment to pause and go down the hidden path to the right of it. A chest with several resources is tucked into the corner. After taking them, climb the ladder.
As you reach the next area, follow the mossy path ahead of you to re-enter the Windy Knot from a new direction.
When the path splits, go forward in the northern direction, for now, to find a wisp at the very top of the dead end.
Give this wisp their 15 Baked Geckos to 'rescue' them before returning to the split in the path. Take the left direction now to find a ladder you can use as a shortcut to the entrance of the Windy Knot below.
Take this ladder down and backtrack to the Leafy Nook Sanctuary nearby.

The easiest 'backtracking' to do is in the Leafy Nook.
From the Sanctuary site, travel slightly north to find a water source you can absorb. Once done, you'll reveal a path ahead with a Journal piece nearby. Pick up that Journal piece and ignore the path ahead (it leads to Lake Nimueh).
Continue through the Leafy Nook until you reach an area with three faeries in a wide open area. Defeat them and run toward the shallow water on the far northern side.
A narrow path will reveal itself to you; follow it to the water source at the halfway point (and spin the mechanism with Aquastream nearby for extra resources). Drain the water in the area to open a path to a wisp at the end.
This wisp will ask for 25 Onyx Roses. Give them to the wisp and then make your way to Lake Nimueh.

Tir Na Nog

Travel through the Leafy Nook to Lake Nimueh. There are three possible paths to take:
- The new path north of Leafy Nook Sanctuary.
- A shortcut made by Lake Nimueh's first detour.
- The long way through Leafy Nook main path.
No matter which you take, re-enter Lake Nimueh and travel to the unfinished water puzzle with multiple spinning contraptions. With Water Cheshire, you will now be able to proceed through it by using Aquastream on the spinning mechanism under the bridge to turn it to Cereza for her to jump on and then to the north.
Jumping off the bridge, you can now grow a bridge shortcut on the left side to avoid needing to redo this puzzle. Now follow the pawprints.
In this next area, you'll enter an illusion field with a puzzle that stands between you and a Tir Na Nog.
To solve it, first, send Water Cheshire across the empty pool of water to the northeast. Once on the other side, have him climb the platforms as they appear while sending Cereza through the Rosemary garden.
Have Cereza jump onto the platform on her side before using Water Cheshire's Aquastream to turn the platform northward. From here, Cereza can jump onto the rising and falling flowers.
Direct her to the east, jumping from one flower to the other, until she's facing the shrouded platform on Cheshire's path.
When the rising flower is at its highest, dispel the platform with Cereza and then jump onto it. Cheshire can now use Aquastream to move the platform around for both of them to reach the far ledge.
Together now, use Stone Cheshire's Stomp to clear the path to the left and open access to the Tir Na Nog.
Tir Na Nog - Compression
This Combat Trial is thankfully very straightforward but has a slight challenge in the magical traps that zone the arena.
Each enemy you face will also be of a different element variety, meaning you'll need to use all modes of Cheshire in order to get the upper hand. Take them all out with the appropriate element while avoiding the traps to win your prize and leave the dungeon.
Lake Nimueh Continued
You'll appear on the other side of the Tir Na Nog in the Lake Nimueh Sanctuary. Before continuing down the main path, backtrack down to the lily pad you can retrieve with Water Cheshire.
Propel both him and Cereza down and to the right until you reach a narrow spot between two islands.
Jump off the lily pad to the south. Follow the path to a Rosemary garden, but don't enter it.
Instead, step onto the rising and falling flower with both Water Cheshire and Cereza. Use Aquastream on the far platform mechanism to turn it toward you. From here, use Hug Cheshire to jump on.
Turn the platform toward a green jumping flower, and use it to reach the cliffside where a brazier can be seen burning. Once on the other side, put out the fire on both the brazier and the chest behind it for resources.
Now, take the path up the hill to the left to find a Remembrance at the very end. Descend this area to return to the lily pad left between the two islands.
Propel the lily pad north and then as far west as possible until you find an area with several small hand-like wooden islands. A wisp will be standing on the largest one.
Give this wisp 25 Unicorn Horns in order to claim them, and then head east to find both a Stompable chest and a locked puzzle chest on the same island area. The puzzle chest can be opened using the same strategy as the locked Giant's Basin chest:
- Activate the puzzle by binding and attacking.
- Bind the buds when they reach ground level and attack with Aquastream.
Opening the chests in this area will reward you with several resources and a Blast Cocktail.
Now, return to the Sanctuary and head north until you reach the waterfront with a lily pad. Take a short detour to the left to find a hidden path southward to a wisp you can free. Once freed, head back to jump on the lily pad.
Ahead, there is a whirlpool in the water you'll need to propel yourself around by sticking close to the shoreline on the left side. Take the lily pad to the far shore between two swirling whirlpools.
Jump onto the shore and follow the paw prints into an arena where you can face several enemies. These enemies include mages, elite warriors, and a Spriggan.
Once all enemies are defeated, you'll be challenged by a new one: Sparcanagh.
Sparcanagh is a staff-wielding mage faerie with lightning attacks. He's a tad faster than a Bananach, but he's still not fast enough to deal with a Grass or Water mode Cheshire. Thorn Bind him and his minions to do crowd control and defeat them all to progress.
In the next water puzzle section, steer Water Cheshire and Cereza down several pools and mini-waterfalls while avoiding whirlpool traps. These traps don't cause you to restart, but they will throw you backwards into a less-than-ideal location.
Along the way, you will find a piece of Journal near the first whirlpool. Grab it in passing, and if you get caught by the whirlpool, don't fret. The simple reset isn't much of an issue, and the whirlpool doesn't respawn before you enter the next section.
At the end of the whirlpool puzzle, you'll fall down a waterfall into a new area. You'll watch a short cutscene before you're placed on the shore below.
Climb the mushroom ladder and follow the paw print path into the next area until you receive yet another cutscene.
When the cutscene appears to end with just Cereza facing her mother, move your joystick toward Rosa each time she moves back until Cheshire intervenes.
Having confirmed the appearance of Rosa as a faerie illusion, Cheshire will split ways with Cereza yet again and set you forth into the next chapter on your own.
