As you advance through the game, more of these haunting cases become accessible. One such case is Home Lies Where The Heart Lies, which beckons you back to the Hunter's Camp to unravel the mystery of the ghost haunting Jane.

The decisions you make throughout a haunting case, whether between Red and Antea or interacting with individuals connected to the case, have no impact on the overall story.

The decision that truly shapes the direction of the narrative is the one you make when resolving the haunting case and bringing closure to it.

Begin The Investigation

As you initiate the Haunting case in the Hunter's Camp, your first step is to enter Jane's shop and engage in conversation with her.

Once you've completed the dialogue with both Jane and the ghost, exit the shop. The ghost will thenprompt you to continue the conversation outside. Take the opportunity to speak with Squire to gather more information about the case.

Following this, proceed to investigate Jane's quarters, which is the house adjacent to where the ghost is located.

Inside, you'll find three items highlighted in green that you need to inspect thoroughly to glean further insights into the case.

Open Sincere's Safe

Your objective will be updated to open Sincere's Safe, located in Jane's shop. Return to the shop while Jane is outside and interact with the chest.

It will be locked, requiring you to retrieve the key to open it.

To obtain the key, look behind the counter where Jane was standing; you'll notice a glowing spot that you can shoot with your rifle.

After shooting it, head to the right side of the shop where there are some barrels; you'll find the key dropped there.

Use the key to unlock the chest and investigate its contents to learn more about the case. Once you've retrieved what's inside, head outside and speak to Squire the ghost to investigate further.

After the conversation with Squire concludes, proceed to your new objective, which is northeast of the Hunter's Camp.

Find Jane's Hunting Tower

Progress through the area of the quest until you spot a building resembling a watchtower to your right. The entrance will be blocked by a large tree chunk, but you can switch to Antea and use her Outburst Manifestation to clear the path.

Once the path is clear, you need to investigate the area.

Start by interacting with the chest to the left of the tower. After that, climb up to the tower using the rope. Inside, you'll find two items: a map on the table and some rings hanging from the structure. Be sure to inspect both items for clues as you continue your investigation.

Find The Mercenary Camp

Now that you've learned about the mercenary camp location, your goal is to reach the Mire Marshes.

You can fast travel there using the nearby shelter, specifically to the Old March Encampment.

From the shelter location, exit and then drop down. Follow the path ahead until you reach an open area where Antea will comment about the little birdie box.

You can also switch to Antea to see the trail highlighted in green if you prefer.

Near the birdie box, you'll find a platform to climb up. After that, take the left side to reach the other side of the house. From there, switch to Antea and follow the trail ahead. Eventually, you'll encounter ivy blocking the way that you'll need to remove.

In the building on the left side, climb up and then use Antea's Ensnare Manifestation to reveal the heart of the ivy. Once revealed, Red can shoot the roots.

Close
  • The first root is located directly below the Ivy's heart.
  • The second root is situated just behind it if you look upward.
  • The third root is found on the climbable wall to the right.

Investigate The Mercenary Camp

Once the Ivy is removed, climb up the wall and progress to the right. After climbing up, you'll spot a wooden carriage to your left, which you can reach by jumping to that side. Inspect the item on the carriage to learn more about what happened.

Next, backtrack from where you came and head toward a broken carriage slightly to your right. There, you'll find another item on the ground that you can interact with.

After interacting with the item, turn around and climb up another wooden carriage in front of you. Work your way up to reach the building you see ahead.

On top of the building, descend and interact with the item on the table to uncover the full story of what transpired between Jane and the ghost.

Bring Closure

Now that you have all the information you need, it's time to confront the two individuals and bring closure to this case.

To return to the Hunter's camp quickly, you can destroy the wooden barrier blocking the door and exit to open a shortcut to the shelter from which you came.

Once back at the Hunter's camp, speak to Squire at his location. Then, head to Jane's shop and tell her the truth about what really happened.

Now, it's time to make a decision and bring closure to the case. You have three choices:

  • Blame Jane: This choice entails sacrificing her and contributing to the possibility of initiating Antea's Resurrection ritual if you intend to revive her.
  • Ascend Squire: This option involves gently releasing his ghost through a Release ritual.
  • Banish Squire: This decision triggers the performance of a Banishment ritual on the ghost.

Remember, all the options are valid, and there is no right or wrong decision. However, each choice will have consequences on the story and Antea's fate, so choose carefully.
