Baldur's Gate 3 already lets you get more up close and personal with the characters than most other cRPGs, but modder Relysia has taken things a step further.
As reported by PC Gamer, they just released a new mod called True Third-Person Camera, which makes Baldur's Gate 3 feel far closer to something like Dragon Age. That's because it keeps the camera fixed firmly on your character, automatically adjusting based on their height and movement, with a dynamic FOV for actions like sprinting.
In the teaser embedded below, you can see the mod in action; the Undercity Ruins should be familiar to anyone who has played Baldur's Gate 3 before, but the mod completely changes the feel of the game to the point that it's borderline unrecognizable. True Third-Person Camera is designed with a controller in mind, but Relysia explains in the description that it's also compatible with the WASD Character Movement mod, so you can combine the two for a more contemporary RPG experience on PC.
Here Are Some Other Mods That Really Make It Feel Dragon Age
Odds are, if you're reading this, you live and breathe Baldur's Gate 3 and have put an ungodly amount of hours into the game already (or, at least, Act 1), so I can't imagine that you would need another excuse to start a new playthrough. But if there ever was one, it would be True Third-Person Camera. And if you really want to dramatically change the feel of the game, you can always combine the mod with Real Time Combat and AI Control Party for that signature BioWare feel.
If you're not fond of True Third-Person Camera in its current state, however, you can adjust and fine-tune it to your preference on the fly with the Mod Configuration Menu, or toggle back to standard view with the press of a button. Given that the game is built with a detached camera in mind, I'm sure that toggle will come in handy.
