Baldur's Gate 3 Patch Accidentally Makes Minthara A Babysitter

Last year, Baldur's Gate 3 added a way for 'good' players to recruit Minthara, the murderous drow general leading an army of goblins to slaughter the tiefling refugees hiding in the druid's grove. But as you were originally supposed to pick between Minthara and Halsin, the camp bugged out and forced them to share a tent since there wasn't a second one for them to go to.
You can recruit Minthara by knocking her out at the Goblin Camp. She'll show up at Moonrise Towers where you can spring her from her cell. Just make sure you don't Long Rest after putting her to sleep or she'll be hostile again.
The accommodation problem has finally been fixed, so the unlikely duo won't be squished together under the same roof anymore. However, Minthara has been left with Halsin's babysitting duties, as Thaniel hasn't moved.
In Act 2, you can save a kid called Thaniel as part of Halsin's quest to lift the Shadowlands' curse. In doing so, Thaniel will stay with you at camp until you leave for Baldur's Gate. If you recruited Minthara by knocking her out rather than slaughtering the druids and tieflings, that meant Halsin and Minthara would look after Thaniel together in what is easily the most cursed family in Faerûn.

Larian is pandering to players when it really shouldn’t
PostsBut after finally giving Halsin his own, separate tent, Larian appears to have forgotten to move the kid with him, leaving Thaniel to be corrupted by Minthara's power-hungry, amoral ways.
I'm not sure who it's worse for; Thaniel, who has to hang around with his bloodthirsty aunt every night, or Minthara, who is stuck looking after a kid when all she wants to do is seize the Absolute's power for herself and conquer the Sword Coast. Even Withers does a better job keeping tabs on kids than Halsin.
