Baldur's Gate 3 Player Discovers Broken Trick For Beating Honour Mode With No Equipment

Baldur's Gate 3's honour mode is pretty bloody hard, limiting you to just one save file and enabling perma death. Once your party is down, they're not getting back up again. But for some, this isn't challenging enough, prompting one fan to impose even more limitations on the run.
TikTok user GMWorkshop is trying to beat honour mode without wearing any equipment, just sticking to camp gear. Better yet, they're not even bringing any companions along, leaving them to take on fights alone. After some trial and error, they may have found a set-up that makes the run somewhat feasible - if you don't mind repeating the same spell combination over and over again.

PostsAs GMWorkshop explains in the video, building a character with both druid and cleric levels gives you access to two very powerful spells - Sanctuary and Moonbeam. Sanctuary is an obvious choice, as it makes you immune to any direct hits, making up for your lack of equipment. However, it typically only stays in place as long as you don't deal any damage, which is where Moonbeam comes in.
As long as you don't attack an enemy with Moonbeam on the first turn that it's used, you're fine. Just fire it on an empty space, and then you can use every turn after that to move it onto an enemy. Since you're just moving the beam at that point, it doesn't count as attacking them, so Sanctuary stays in effect.
It might get very repetitive, but in theory, you could use this to beat a solo honour mode run without any items at all. Moonbeam requires concentration, but since enemies will struggle to land hits on you, you'll probably be fine. They can still hit you with area-of-effect spells, however, so you'll have to hope that they don't fling a fireball your way - that will pierce your Sanctuary defences without issue.
This is far from the only trick you can use to beat honour mode. Players have long-shared exploits you can use, including leaving one party member at camp permanently. This puts you at a disadvantage in fights, but it prevents you all from being wiped out, and thus ending the run. One method that I accidentally discovered is taking up all the other save slots on your system. This prevented my game from autosaving or exit saving, meaning I could save scum my way out of a fight that would have definitely ended the run. Yes, I am ashamed of myself.
