While Baldur’s Gate 3's boots can enhance your movement, that’s not all they’re for. There are a lot of boots to choose from, so there will always be a perfect fit, no matter how you play. Most boots have unique effects that can massively improve your power as a party member.
There are boots for everything: fighting, running, supporting, or simply staying upright on rocky terrain. Of course, it can be difficult to find the right ones when there are so many available. This list explores which boots help your party put their best foot forward, no matter your class.
8 Boots Of Aid And Comfort
CloseEffect
The Comeback: When the wearer heals a target, it gains an additional three temporary hit points.
Location
Act One: Sold by Grat The Trader at the entrance of the courtyard in the Goblin Camp.
When exploring the wilderness for the first time, you might accidentally engage in fights you'd rather avoid. Since it’s practically impossible to evade most fights, it’s a good idea to have a dedicated healer in your party who can keep the team alive.
The Boots Of Aid And Comfort are a great addition, as they gift the wearer temporary hit points when they heal another character. Having such support early on in the game is helpful, especially if it’s your first time playing. Being some of the best boots available early on, they're worth checking out.
7 Disintegrating Night Walkers
CloseEffect
Night Walker: Can't be enwebbed, entangled, or ensnared and can't slip on grease or ice. Grants the spell Misty Step.
Location
Act One: The boots are worn by Nere, who is trapped in a cave in the Grymforge. Kill and loot or pickpocket Nere to obtain the boots.
Gaining the upper hand in a fight can be challenging with Difficult Terrain. Surfaces that are icy or greasy can knock you prone and vulnerable to enemy attack. The Disintegrating Night Walkers will dismiss all those worries, making them some of the most substantial boots in Act One.
The boots also grant you the spell Misty Step, one of the best spells in the game. Misty Step allows you to teleport to an open location, which can help you sneak, escape fights, reach difficult places, or make a grand entrance.
6 The Speedy Lightfeet
CloseEffect
Speedy Sparks: When the wearer Dashes or takes a similar action in combat, they gain three Lightning Charges. Gain plus one to Athletics.
Location
Act One: In the Blighted Village, in a heavy chest in the cellar behind the Windmill where Barcus Wroot is being held.
The Speedy Lightfeet boots are great for those who want to make a build based on Lightning Charges. When dashing, you gain three Lightning Charges, which give plus one to your damage roll and deal an additional one Lightning damage. Gaining five charges allows you to consume them and deal one to eight Lightning damage on your next attack.
These boots can be paired with numerous other items that give Lightning Charges, meaning you can keep your Lightning Charge count up and continuously deal Lightning Damage. You can also find some items that give bonus effects when interacting with Lightning Charges, like granting temporary life points or gaining Advantage over particular attacks.
5 Boots Of Speed
CloseEffect
Grants Click Heels as a Class Action. Click Heels: Your Movement Speed is doubled, and enemies have Disadvantage on Opportunity Attacks against you
Location
Act One: Purchased from Thulla in the Myconid Colony in the Underdark or given as a reward for curing her.
The Boots Of Speed are valuable boots you can acquire early in the game. You’ll come across them during Act One when exploring the Underdark. You can use Click Heelsas a bonus action that, when paired with Dash, means you can go incredibly far during one turn.

An experience in three parts.
PostsThese boots are great for getting out of fights if you’re the last person alive in the party. You might accidentally join a fight and not be in a practical location. If that happens, you can use these actions to quickly reposition yourself.
4 Boots Of Brilliance
CloseEffect
Restore Bardic Inspiration: Play your instrument to restore one of your Bardic Inspiration slots.
Location
Act Two: In the northeastern room, north of Yurgir, in the Gauntlet of Shar. The boots are inside a heavy chest.
Bards are one of the most enjoyable classes in Baldur’s Gate 3, so it’s only fair they get equipment tailored directly to them. The Boots Of Brilliance are easy to miss if you’re not exploring every corner and side room you encounter. Make sure to grab them once you're walking freely around Yurgir’s area in the Gauntlet of Shar.
Boots of Brilliance allow you to restore your Bardic Inspiration, which is used to increase various rolls, including Attack Rolls, Saving Throws, and Ability Checks. Whatever bonus you provide, these boots allow you to play more beautiful music while your party is fighting for their lives.
3 Boots Of Persistence
CloseEffect
Legendary Mobility: You gain Freedom of Movement and Longstrider. Gain plus one to Dexterity Saving Throws.
Location
Act Three: Sold by Dammon at the Forge of the Nine in the Lower City in Baldur's Gate.
Boots of Persistence are a great pair of boots for those who are all about movement. Freedom of Movement means you're not hindered by enemy spells or Difficult Terrain. Longstrider increases your movement speed by three meters, making you practically unstoppable.
These boots are great for classes like Monk or Paladin, who want to get close to the enemy as quickly as possible. One downside to these boots is the required proficiency with medium armour, which some classes don’t naturally have.
2 Boots Of Psionic Movement
CloseEffect
Flying Strike:When a Githyanki casts Fly, their next melee weapon attack deals an additional 1d4 Psychic damage. Gain plus one to Dexterity Saving Throws. Grants the spell Githborn: Flying Boots.
Location
Act Three: Looted from Ch'r'ai Har'rak in the Knights of the Shield hideout (Emperor's Old Hideout) underneath Elfsong Tavern.
Boots of Psionic Movement are boots specially tailored towards Githyanki players. They improve your movement with the Flyspell and boost your damage as a reward for using it.
RelatedBaldur's Gate 3: Best Races For A Bard
From the versatile Human to the wily Deep Gnome, these classes provide a range of advantages that would fit a Baldur's Gate 3 Bard very well.
PostsThese boots give you an additional 1d4 Psychic damage after using Fly. You can reposition yourself to a more beneficial location before dealing a more powerful attack. Githyankis are more suited to melee classes, so these boots are great for getting close to enemies. The one downside is the spell recharges over a long rest, so you’ll only be boosted for one attack.
1 Helldusk Boots
CloseEffect
Steadfast: You cannot be forcibly moved by a foe's spell or actions, and you ignore the effects of Difficult Terrain. Infernal Evasion: When you fail a Saving Throw, you may use your reaction to succeed instead. Hellcrawler: Teleport to an area and deal two to 16 Fire damage where you land. The impact blast spreads in a three-meter zone.
Location
Act Three: Looted from a chest in Gortash's room in the upper levels of Wyrm's Rock Fortress.
Like many pieces of Helldusk armour, the Helldusk Boots are easily the best boots you can obtain in Baldur’s Gate 3. These allow you to get close to enemies without hindrance from enemy spells or Difficult Terrain. You can also use a reaction to succeed a saving throw if you fail, which provides further protection in battle.
The Hellcrawler action from these boots lets you make a grand entrance into any fight. When teleporting, Hellcrawlermakes you deal two to 16 Fire damage in a three-meter radius once you land.
