Baldur's Gate 3 takes the character building out of the race and class menus with magic items like the many amulets you can loot or buy in game. Some take after recognizable and iconic amulets from Dungeons & Dragons, while others provide unique effects you can only find in Baldur's Gate 3.

Precious... Oops, wrong fantasy series.
PostsAlthough not every amulet is equally useful, or even useful at all in some cases, each gives you an opportunity to rethink your party dynamic and another 100 gold to Withers to change your class for the fifth time this playthrough. Some amulets you'll never want to unequip because of how essential they can be to your character.
Updated on October 11, 2024, by Alfredo Robelo: The trinkets that you can put around your neck are indeed numerous in Baldur's Gate 3, with plenty of possible builds waiting for you on the horizon. We've updated this article to feature even more amazing amulets, from things that can aid you in the early game to game-breaking elements that will get you past the dreaded honor mode.
11 Psychic Spark
Shoot Even More Missiles
Bought from Blurg in the Underdark, Psychic Spark has the simple effect of giving you a free casting of Magic Missile while buffing the damage of the spell as if it had been cast with a higher spell slot. This turns what is otherwise a strong level one spell into one that will be used more often than any other.
While this can be a handy tool for martial classes with few good ranged options, giving it to your wizard or sorcerer will give them an additional buff while allowing them to use even a sixth-level spell slot to shoot more missiles than what is normally possible for the spell.
10 Amulet Of Greater Health
More Health Than You'll Ever Need
The Amulet of Greater Health lives up to its name and gives its wielder a higher Constitution score than the base 20 cap for all races. This means that a character at level 12 wearing this amulet has 72 more hit points than the same character with only a 10 in Constitution.
Ignoring the fact that this also makes it easier to succeed in maintaining concentration, the amulet also gives advantage on Constitution saving throws, which helps with a myriad of spell effects as well as poison. Giving this to your tankiest character means never worrying about that character going down.
9 Spellcrux Amulet
Cast More Spells
The Spellcrux Amulet has an ability that restores a spell slot of any level, which only takes a bonus action. This Amulet is ideal for any spellcaster, especially Warlocks, as the only other amulet with a similar effect only restores slots up to level three, which Warlocks can't benefit from without a slot of that level.

If you're planning on playing as a paladin in BG3, these are the best races to use for your character.
PostsThe best way to use this amulet is to save it for after long rests to cast elemental or creature summons, and then use the spell restoration to immediately get the slot back and essentially gain a free casting of any spell. With this effect, you can even cast more level six spells in one rest than should be possible.
8 Amulet Of The Devout
Show Your Devotion To Your Chosen God
The Amulet of the Devout lives up to its name as it is the perfect tool for Clerics. Other than granting a hefty +2 to your spell save DC, which is useful for all spellcasters beyond Clerics, it also grants an additional use of Channel Divinity.
Anyone who's played a Cleric knows that a third use of channel divinity is enough to trample most encounters with the right subclass. The only shame about this amulet is that it is locked beneath the Stormshore Tabernacle in Baldur's Gate. Make sure to send it straight to camp, or else you will be cursed for taking it.
7 Amulet Of Misty Step
Get Everywhere, And Fast
As the name implies, the Amulet Of Misty Step gives you one free casting of Misty Step per short rest. Of all the amulets that give access to low level spells, Misty Step is the strongest spell you can have due to its versatility with any class.
Outside of combat, Misty Step can be used to access areas you'd otherwise not have access to, like through bars or massive gaps. In combat, it's best given to martial classes with no casting ability so that they can access the entire battlefield. Alternatively give it to casters that would normally already have it so that you can allow them to replace it with another spell in their class list.
6 Periapt Of Wound Closure
Get Back Up During Hard Encounters
An iconic Dungeons & Dragons magic item, the Periapt of Wound Closure works the same way in Baldur's Gate 3, automatically stabilizing the downed wearer while maximizing the number of hit points that are restored from any source.

These eldritch invocations will really help you out in Baldur's Gate 3.
PostsIgnoring the stabilizing feature, which is more or less forgettable, the healing effect can be used to get an excessive amount of healing from potions and spells consistently that are otherwise statistically improbable, like fully healing at max level with only a Potion of Superior Healing.
5 Necklace Of Elemental Augmentation
Be The Master Of The Elements
The Necklace of Elemental Augmentation buffs damaging cantrips that deal either lightning, cold, fire, acid, or thunder. Alone, this amulet turns your Firebolt and Ray of Frost into dangerous spells, especially when you reach level five and they get buffed with damage.
Where this amulet shines is combining it with the Elemental Adept feat and strengthening your cantrips a third time, which lets you limitlessly use high damage spells from one magic item and one feat. With a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer, you get a fourth buff to your elemental cantrips, and there are two Necklaces of Elemental Augmentation in the game.
4 Amulet Of Branding
Easy Way To Deal Massive Damage
The Amulet of Branding is unique because it gives you access to a spell not found in D&D, which allows you to apply vulnerability to a creature for two turns. The vulnerability is for piercing, slashing, and bludgeoning, which are almost exclusively from weapon attacks, but the vulnerability allows any attacker, not just the caster, to get double damage.
What makes this spell so strong is that it is only a bonus action and activates with no potential for a save from your target. With abilities that automatically trigger critical hits like Luck of the Far Realms, you can set up game-breaking damage with one sneak attack from your rogue.
3 Amulet Of Lost Voices
Have A Chat With The Deceased
During your time in Baldur's Gate 3, being able to gather information from everyone around you is crucial, especially on your first playthrough. This is why you can access The Amulet Of Lost Voices so early on, since it allows you to cast a spell that you'd normally only be able to learn at level 5: Speak with Dead.
The spell lets you interact with corpses, learning how they died and other basic elements of who they were, although it won't let you talk to the undead like zombies and skeletons. You'll find it in the same crypt Withers is sleeping in, a place you can access even before entering the Druid's Grove.
2 Corvid Token
Spread Your Wings And Fly
Obtainable in Act 3 from Mattis, this amulet improves your character's movement speed, gives them the Feather Fall condition, and allows them to turn into a Dire Raven capable of flight. While most characters can fly thanks to the Astral Tadpole in Act 3, you might not want to use said Tadpole, or maybe there is a party member whom you failed to convince to take it; they can then benefit from the Corvid Token.
Of course, even if you can already fly, the increased movement speed can still be worth it, not to mention the additional hit points gained during the Dire Raven transformation. You can even send that character to explore ahead in the Raven form, and they'll be able to loot everything they find, unlike familiars who can't.
