The showcase teased a new update to the game, called "Friends of Jimbo", which sees the Poker-inspired card game cross over with some other huge franchises, including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Dave The Diver.

Balatro: Friends of Jimbo Revealed During The Nintendo Indie World Showcase

Nintendo revealed the free update, which launches later today, which sees Balatro cross over with four popular video game franchises — three indies and one major franchise.

Friends of Jimbo will see decks inspired by the following games drop into LocalThunk's indie hit:

  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  • Vampire Survivors
  • Among Us
  • Dave the Diver

Each of the following games will be represented with their own set of face cards. The Witcher 3 will, for example, feature Geralt of Rivia as the King, and the Among Us deck will feature a range of crew mates as the Jack and Queen cards, with an impostor as the King.

The trailer during Nintendo's showcase teases that more crossovers may be coming further down the line, with quasi-protagonist Jimbo stating, "That will do... For now."

Developer LocalThunk has confirmed that Balatro is set to receive further game-changing updates in the future, alongside a mobile port of the game.
