In recent years, achievements have become a highly coveted part of the gaming experience. Being able to complete a task or mission in a game, especially one that you weren't sure had an achievement tied to them, has become a highly satisfying mechanic that helps track the accomplishments.

Some of the hardest achievements in games can be overcoming difficult stretches of gameplay. But in As Dusk Falls, the hardest achievements come from making difficult decisions that may not be ideal for the path you wanted to go down in the game. However, there are quite a few of these hard moments in the narrative experience.
10 What's Done Is Done
A key moment in As Dusk Falls' story is when we get a flashback in Chapter Two to before Vince and his family were on the move. Vince discovers some suggestive texts on his wife Michelle's phone that indicates that she might have been having an affair.
To get the "What's Done Is Done" achievement, you will need to make sure that Vince gets Michelle to admit to having the affair after pressing her on the contents of the texts. However, once she admits this, you will have the option to forgive her. Getting the achievement requires Vince to forgive Michelle.
9 Hands In The Air
In Chapter Four, Jay will meet with his family in a cabin where they will try to plan out their escape from their situation. However, if you had Ash reveal the location of the cabin to Dante from earlier in the game, the cops will surround the cabin, leading to an unfortunate set of events no matter what.
While it is hard to give up on running away, the "Hands In The Air" achievement will unlock if Jay surrenders to the cops. Beyond Ash's reveal, no choices are needed to be made here except for any option that involves surrendering. Doing so will lead to Jay's arrest and the achievement to pop.
8 Almost Made It
In the game's final chapter, you will have guided Jay all the way to nearing the end of his run and almost be successful enough to get away from the cops and live his life as a free man. However, the "Almost Made It" achievement asks you to cut the run just short.

After entering the national park, Jay and Vanessa will soon be surprised by the arrival of the cops. It is during this sequence that you can choose whether to keep running or surrender, the latter of which awards the achievement. However, even if the decision is made to run, failing the quick-time events will lead to Jay's arrest and the achievement still appearing.
7 No Going Back
Heading back to the cabin scene in Chapter Four, there is a way out of that situation for Jay. Unfortunately, it may involve killing one of the cops that are pursuing them and leading to the situation escalating to the point of no going back. Coincidentally, "No Going Back" is the name of this achievement.
To make it happen, Ash must reveal the location of the cabin to Dante. Then, when the cops are ambushing the family, Jay must choose to abandon his family. After succeeding in some quick-time events, Jay must take the opportunity to shoot the cop, allowing him to remain free.
6 Stay Of Execution
There are plenty of endgame scenarios that can play out in As Dusk Falls, one of them being the events that lead to the achievement of "Stay of Execution." This is also a trophy that requires a lot of things to have happened to trigger.
Vince and Michelle will need to live. Jay must not have buried the stranger alive in Chapter Three. Jay must also not shoot the cop in Chapter Four. He can't fight Todd in Chapter Five. Plus, Jay and Vanessa can't run over the checkpoint officer in Chapter Six. On top of that, Jay must be arrested in Chapter Six. All these actions will prevent Jay from being executed.
5 Free Bird
In a similar tone to the "Stay of Execution" achievement, you will need to be nearly perfect to get the accomplishment of "Free Bird" in Chapter Six. One major note for this one is that Jay must be alone when entering the National Park. That means he and Vanessa parted ways at the end of Chapter Five.
From here, Jay will face a Park Ranger. In the conversation, Jay must surrender to the ranger. However, if Jay followed a similar criteria path of not hurting or killing anyone during the game (keeping Vince/Michelle alive, not shooting the cop, etc.), the park ranger will allow Jay to run away.
4 Once A Holt
There's yet another option that can be taken in the cabin scene in Chapter Four, and while it may not involve as many steps as "No Going Back," how this plays out shows where Jay's loyalty is at with his fellow fugitive family members.

To get this, cops must arrive at the cabin, which means Ash revealed its location to Dante. Once they are surrounded, Jay must choose to help his family with getting out of the situation. Regardless of how the rest of the sequence plays out, the loyalty expressed here despite their belittling is worth the trophy.
3 Plead The 5th
One of the more intense moments in As Dusk Falls, if Jay is caught after Chapter Four or the beginning of Chapter Five, is the interrogation scene with Special Agent Bradley. This is a very difficult achievement as it requires getting every answer right.
As Bradley is asking Jay questions, you must be prepared to answer repeatedly either "Don't Answer" when available or other options that include asking for a lawyer or pleading your innocence. At no point should Jay admit to any crimes being committed, even if it wasn't him that did them.
2 Most Wanted
A possible conclusion to the game is getting Jay to successfully escape. He can do this by jumping off the waterfall to escape cops at the border or having the park ranger let Jay go for his good conscious. However, all that hard work must be thrown away to get the "Most Wanted" achievement.
Zoe will visit Jay, who made it to Canada to live in the woods with his dog. To go after this trophy, Zoe must tell Jay that he ruined her family. By doing this, Jay will open the door to allow Zoe to call the cops on him, and he will surrender. Calling the cops on him will get this achievement.
1 Enough Is Enough
On the flip side, Jay could fail to get past the cops in Chapter Six and still end up behind bars. If Jay was not on good behavior, he will be up for execution and there will be no stopping it. Zoe will also visit Jay in this scenario, only with him in prison.
To achieve "Enough is Enough," Zoe will need to say that Jay was looking out for her during the hostage situation. However, when Jay asks her to stay for the execution, Zoe must say that she wants no more trauma. This will lead to Zoe leaving the prison before Jay's demise and will pop the most difficult achievement in the game.
