While it's been a rough couple of decades for Avatar on the video game front, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is shaping up to actually be a pretty terrific game. It's getting nonstop praise from the FGC crowd for its gameplay and animations, while it also has a surprising level of attention to detail that should get fans of the show on board as well.

You have minor references to the show, such as characters standing in the background, as well as subtle references built into a character's whole kit. For example, it's been discovered that you can actually instantly beat Toph (one of the game's more busted characters) with a single hit if you know exactly what to do.

Toph Seemingly Has A Lore Accurate Insta-Kill Weakness

Those that have actually watched Avatar: The Last Airbender will know that Toph is blind, and uses her earthbending abilities to see by sensing the vibrations of people around her with her feet. It's why she struggles to see when she's walking around on the sand, and why she was pretty much helpless when Zuko accidentally burnt her feet in that one episode.

Toph is essentially helpless when her feet are damaged, and it seems as though this little bit of trivia may have made its way into Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. With the beta in full swing, it's been discovered that Sokka can instantly beat Toph by swiping at her feet from below while she's standing on a rock platform.

Now, two things could be happening. Either, this is an intended feature and once the soles of Toph's feet have been hit she's done for, or it's a bug. You can see that the game registers Toph's rock platform as a hitbox, so it's possible the damage might be stacked as Sokka swipes all the way up the platform, but it's impossible to know right now.

Personally, I'm hoping it's the former rather than the latter. It would be amazing if Toph had such a debilitating weakness that forces players to keep her on the ground at all times, and only jump when you're truly confident you won't get hit. It's perfectly lore accurate, makes the character more interesting, and adds to the personality of the game. It's a win-win-win.
