In Atrio: The Dark Wild there are a couple of creatures that have their own purpose in the automation cycle. Such use of animals is so thoughtful and nearly all of them have their own responsibilities in said process.

In the meantime, there are also only hostile creatures that can't be interacted with or looted, which is subject to change. All of these other creatures have their own biomes, and you can only find them in their specific regions and capture some to make them useful for your employee.

Mini Deer

The Mini Deer is one of the catchable creatures in the game, and they can craft different paste recipes for you, which makes them super useful. You will need these creatures in your playthrough a lot, and you can use them to craft precious items like fuel to feed your base or a battery to keep you charged all the time. Also, they are useful for automation crafts.

After you capture and place the Mini Deer to your liking, you can click on them and change the recipe you want. Later you'll need to feed the deer with the required materials to get the recipe. You can simply stack the output to your chests somewhere, or you can directly connect them to your factory system.

Tornatoad

The Tornatoad is a harvester animal, and they are used in farming. This animal allows you to automatically harvest fully grown crops. Tornatoads are able to pull crops from planters with their strong breath, and this skill can pull plants six blocks away.

Tornatoads can harvest Blue Shroom, Red Shroom, Purp Shroom, Green Shroom, Cabbage, Soybean, and Potato plants. These items are vital in the game. To give you an example, shrooms can power your fuel depot with decent fuel like Shroom Fuel or Corrosive Fuel. As for other plants, they are there to help you finish story mode.

Pushback Splitter

If you played games like Satisfactory or Factorio before, you might look for Atrio: The Dark Wild's own splitter, and that's exactly what a Pushback Splitter is. Basically, these mechanic dogs equally split items on top of the Grav Pipes. Contrary to deer, these dogs will attack you, and they can get a huge chunk of your health. Luckily, you can dodge them easily.

The Pushback Splitters will shine in the late game when your factory gets complicated and overloaded. To set an example, when some items start stacking on Grav Pipe, you might want to split them by using this creature, which will connect them to another factory or chest.

You can encounter these dogs often while trying to claim the Employee Support Package.

Thebest way to deal with multiple Pushback Splitters is to bait them to attack you at the same time so you can dodge all of them at once easily.

Bee

Bees can make honey, and it is required to beat the game you can craft Meal Kit with it. Bees can collect honey from Glow Plants, Soybeans, Potatoes, Cabbages, or any kind of Shrooms. For this reason, you should place Bee Box on your shroom farm and also produce honey for the late game. If you try to collect honey from Bee Box that you didn't place, bees will attack you.

To be able to catch bees off guard and steal their honey you can use Smoke Bombs. You should plant bombs near the hive and stun bees then you can loot the Bee Boxes.

How To Catch Animals

To be able to catch animals, you need to be able to craft Stun Bombs. Then, it will depend on the creature you're trying to catch. For example, to catch a Pushback Splitter, you can plant the bomb behind you and bait the creature to charge you; the moment it steps on the bomb, you can hit the Shift key to explode the item.

If you don't have the blueprint for the Stun Bomb, you should feed the Hearthbox until you learn its recipe.

After most creatures are hit by the Stun Bomb, they can be collected just like normal items. You can catch Pushback Splitter and Mini Deer like this. However, tocapture a Tornatoad, you should bait it to swallow Stun Bomb.

On the other hand, bees can be captured with Smoke Bombs. As with the rest of the tools, you should learn its blueprint to be able to craft them. Also, if you feed the Hearthbox enough, you'll receive a recipe for crafting Bee Boxes, along with Planter, Water Pump, and Shroom Seeds. When you place these Bee Boxes, you can harvest the bees' honey without getting stung.

Bee Boxes should be near Glow Plant, Soybean, Cabbage, Potato, or Shrooms, so bees can collect nectar for their hives.

You can find more information about how to capture each animal and what are they used for in our Atrio: The Dark Wild farming guide.
