Oblivion Remastered Shows The Other Side Of Oblivion Gates Fully Rendered

Summary
- Oblivion Remastered looks more like a ground-up remake than a simple graphical overhaul.
- Players love the new visuals, especially the ability to see through Oblivion Gates.
- Waiting for TES 6 feels a lot easier now.
It's called The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, but it definitely looks like a ground-up remake. It's unclear why Bethesda chose to go with 'remastered', but the visual overhaul that the game has received is definitely more than a simple graphical overhaul. It has retained that charm of the original, while giving us visuals akin to a 2025 release.

It deserves more than a poorly-adapted port.
Posts 2Fans have returned to Cyrodiil in droves to explore their favourite RPG from 20 years ago in current-gen visual quality. The first thing that players have been pointing out is just how gorgeous everything looks. From the stunning scenery to the beautiful, the remaster looks like a memory of the classic game that we all loved. However, what has really caught the eye of players are the Oblivion Gates.
You Can Actually See Through The Oblivion Gates In The Remaster
The Oblivion Gates are the central theme of the game, acting as portals between Tamriel and what is essentially hell. While they were just swirling flames in the original, the remaster has made it so that you can actually see what's on the other side of them. It may not seem like much after games like Marvel Rivals, but it's a big step up for Oblivion, and fans absolutely love this little detail, as demonstrated by a Redditor.
They posted an image of an Oblivion Gate and you can clearly see Tamriel on the other side. "Oblivion's gates look so beautiful that I don't want the crisis to end. I want a player house outside of a gate," said one comment. Players can't get over how good the game looks, with OP saying, "Honestly guys I would screenshot everything I see in this game."
"I expected nothing less , they honest to god COOKED with this remaster. This is how remasters should be done! Nothing removed, everything improved," said another player.
CloseIt's safe to say that Nightdive Studios smashed it with this remaster. With The Elder Scrolls 6 maybe coming sometime this decade, Oblivion Remastered is a great way to keep interest alive.
