There are plenty of challenging enemies to face in Oblivion Remastered and dozens of different effects that cause you to lose health, Magicka, and more. However, Restoration is the perfect school of magic to counteract these negative effects, allowing you to aid both allies and yourself against the dangerous forces of Oblivion and Tamriel alike.

While restoring health is the undisputed top priority when it comes to the school of Restoration, there are multifaceted spells that allow you to recover in multiple ways simultaneously. We'll be judging the best Restoration spells in Oblivion Remastered by their usefulness and efficiency compared to other spells that offer similar benefits.

8 Remedy Friend

Remedy Friend is arguably the best Restoration spell to use on allies in Oblivion Remastered, given its relatively cheap cost and multiple effects. First, you'll heal your target for 20 total HP over two seconds, which provides them with the most important part of any touch-based Restoration spell.

Secondly, you'll also restore 40 total points of fatigue over those two seconds, allowing your ally to continue attacking foes as needed and with less risk of being staggered or knocked down. If you're playing a support mage build, this is a must-have spell.

7 Heal Superior Wounds

On paper, Heal Superior Wounds deserves credit as one of the best Restoration spells in terms of sheer amount of HP healed, returning 100 of your hit points over four seconds. However, there are two notable drawbacks to this spell: it's high cost to cast, and its delayed healing.

While you can mitigate the delayed healing by casting this spell preemptively before your health gets too low, it can be risky if you're hit by a strong attack. Furthermore, the cost is high, so it can restrict this spell's usage, especially if you just need 25 or 50 HP back but don't have the 137 Magicka left to cast the spell at all.

6 Fortify Magicka

Fortify Magicka might seem like a net loss, given that it costs 38 Magicka to cast, but the benefit of this spell isn't necessarily about casting more spells (though it can help with that too), but rather being able to cast stronger ones.

For example, if you have 125 Magicka but want to cast Heal Superior Wounds, you wouldn't be able to unless you use Fortify Magicka to get to 155.

Using the example numbers, Fortify Magicka will use 38 of your available Magicka, but increase your total Magicka cap from 125 to 155 for a minute. Within that minute, if you refill your Magicka with potions, you'll now be able to cast a spell that has a higher cost than your usual Magicka cap, providing a temporary workaround when you're still building up your Magicka.

5 Rejuvenate

If you're a solo hero and don't have time to waste on allies weighing you down or worshiping the ground you walk on, then Rejuvenate is for you. It shares similar qualities to Remedy Friend, but the HP and fatigue recovered are doubled to 40 and 80, respectively, and still over two seconds.

These effects are excellent, and despite a decent chunk of Magicka required to cast, this spell can be a huge savior in dire situations. Keep this spell in your back pocket for fights in the Arena, when you're under pressure to attack without much room to escape and recover.

4 Consume Health

Consume Health sounds more like a deadly Destruction spell, but its restorative properties are enough to earn it a place among Oblivion Remastered's best Restoration spells. This spell will absorb 20 points of health on touch, allowing you to deal damage while healing yourself.

The 20 points of HP restored might not sound like much for a touch spell, but this spell causes a 40-point shift in your favor by removing 20 HP from a foe while giving you an additional 20. At a cost of only 40 Magicka, you can't go wrong.

3 Night Mother’s Caress

While you'll need to join the Dark Brotherhood to gain access to this spell, it's well worth the small effort. Night Mother's Caress is one of the most efficient spells in the game, given its minuscule 18 Magicka cost, which makes it accessible to any character (unless you severely debuff your Magicka).

For 18 points of Magicka, you'll regain 20 total HP, at a rate of ten per second for two seconds, giving you a quick heal in a pinch. This spell is easily spamable to start stacking up the regeneration, but the spaced-out healing can become problematic if you are on the verge of death against aggressive enemies.

2 Revive

Revive is a top-tier Oblivion Remastered Restoration spell thanks to its incredibly potent effects:

  • Restore HP by 35 points for two seconds (70 total)
  • Restore Fatigue by 75 points for two seconds (150 total)

In a vacuum, you could easily stop right there and call this the best Restoration spell in the game based on its effects, but it's equally important to consider casting cost and use cases for a spell like this.

The roughly 157 Magicka it will cost you to use this spell is a hefty amount, and might not even be accessible for some builds. However, if you're a mage who relies on healing over armor, then this spell will come in clutch as another top choice for the Arena.

1 Heal Major Wounds

The best Restoration spell in Oblivion Remastered is Heal Major Wounds due to its solid HP-restoring effect and relatively efficient casting cost. While it's not the most potent restorative spell, Heal Major Wounds is cheap to cast, adds up quickly, and can be spammed or used to top up your HP bar, making it incredibly versatile.

Unless you play an incredibly risky style, you usually won't need to restore massive amounts of HP in an instant, so this spell should keep you healthy while also being easy to spam in case you need to restore more HP in a pinch. This is likely to be your most-used Restoration spell, whether you're power-leveling or using it to stay alive.
