How To Start Blood Of The Daedra Quest
The Blood of the Daedra quest can be started after completing the Spies quest. You'll have to go to the Cloud Ruler Temple to talk with Martin Septim and ask about his progress in deciphering the Mysterium Xarxes that you have recovered from the Mythic Dawn base.
Martin will inform you that to open the gate to Camoran's Paradise, one of the items he'll need is a Daedric Artifact. He'll also tell you that you can read the Modern Heretics book to discover more about these artifacts.
Blood of the Daedra Quest Walkthrough
The Modern Heretics book talks about the Shrine of Azura, and reading the book will immediately unlock a quest log entry that asks you to visit Azura's Shrine and find out how to obtain a Daedric Artifact.
You can then fast travel to Lake Arrius Caverns, the same place where you discovered Dagon's Shrine, and then move straight north to arrive at the Shrine of Azura. Talk to Mels Maryon at the shrine. After you've persuaded him, he will reveal the requirements to start the Azura quest.
After you've completed the Azura quest, you'll be rewarded with Azura's Star, which can then be given to Martin Septim. However, given the usefulness of this item, it's not recommended that you give it to Martin.
Azura's Star could be infinitely used to enchant or recharge weapons, making it a useful tool to pair with enchanted weapons, instead of Soul Gems, later on in the game.
If you don't plan to use any enchanted weapons later on, or don't want any extra hassle, and finish the main story as soon as possible, then you can indeed give Azura's Star to Martin.
Best Daedric Artifact To Give To Martin
You can give any Daedric Artifact to Martin to complete this quest. While the best Daedric Artifact, which you won't feel much regret for losing in your playthrough, is easily the Saviour's Hide, which can be obtained by completing Hircine's quest. However, the quest only becomes available after you're level 17, which is a little too late because Blood of the Daedra is an early game quest.
Another excellent choice of a Daedric Artifact to give to Martin for the quest is Namira's Ring, which can be claimed after completing the Namira quest. The quest requires you to be at least level five, which can be managed early on if you don't plan to sacrifice Azura's Star.
Namira's Ring reflects a short amount of physical and magical damage, and while it's hard to find a replacement for this Daedric Artifact, compared to the other options available early on, Namira's Ring is the best choice to give away.
Completing Blood Of The Daedra Quest
After you've acquired any Daedric Artifact, you can return to Martin Septim inside the Cloud Ruler Temple. You'll have to talk to him to give him the Daedric Artifact, and he'll have a unique dialogue depending on the artifact that you've given to him.
Martin will then ask you to talk to Jauffre while he prepares to decipher more of the Mysterium Xarxes, and the quest will be completed. You can then talk to Jauffre regarding the Bruma Gate main quest.
