Nintendo's NSO Game Boy Advance Has Randomly Added A Cute Easter Egg

Do you love the Game Boy Advance? I do. It was a haven of great JRPGs that deserved a longer lifespan in the West. If you somehow haven't heard, you can play a select assortment of Game Boy Advance games if you're subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online.
Ordinarily, you're stuck with the NSO-branded blink-and-miss-it start-up screen when booting up the GBA app. Whether you're on the Switch or its big-deal successor, you won't get the full nostalgic blast from what it's like to turn on your ancient GBA. Nintendo has now made that possible!
Jingle All The Way
mindtribe.comWe spotted this via Eurogamer, which is worth repeating in advance (ha) because I'll also be using a quick video made by the article's author, Victoria Phillips Kennedy, to demonstrate Nintendo's easter egg in action.
So, all you've got to do to replace the Nintendo Switch Online's GBA boot-up screen is to tilt your controller's analog stick about a bit while clicking on the app (and a second or so thereafter, for good measure). That's it. Nintendo's hidden this wonderful feature, but it's an easy-to-remember, easier-to-accomplish method, so bless them for that.
The proof is in the booting, as they say. Rather than the red screen and an image of the Game Boy Advance, it's the original depiction, white screen and happy-go-lucky 'GAME BOY ADVANCE' text arrival and everything. This version, which was quietly included in a recent update for the subscription service, comes complete with the right-proper jingle that was long ago etched into so many of our brains.
Eurogamer mentions that this same trick works for NSO's GameCube app, which is, if anything, even cooler. I had no idea.
That's it. That's all I wanted to report. Many of you may shrug, but some of you, and I see you, will rush to try this out for yourselves. There's also a keychain that plays the same sound, by the way. So, that's cute.
