The Nintendo Switch has dominated since its launch in 2017, and now we have a vast selection of fantastic games to take on the go.
PostsA great part about using VR with the switch is that you use the same joy-con controllers you know and love without having to learn the new controllers that come with other VR mediums. However, with how little coverage Nintendo has given to the format, it might be a little difficult to choose a VR game from the Nintendo marketplace. Hopefully, this list gives you some choice titles to help you make that decision!
8 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Super Smash Bros. has been one of Nintendo's most successful titles since the days of the Nintendo GameCube. Its beat-up gameplay has brought friends together in combat, and the internet has allowed later titles to challenge people from around the world to see who the best fighter is.
While Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is worth playing on its own, Nintendo has introduced VR functionality to the game, allowing you to play from a different perspective. VR functionality is quite limited at this time, with only CPU spectating and single-player battles working with VR. However, it is definitely an experience to try out if you have access to VR, especially with the perspective giving you a look at parts of some maps that were previously not visible in its classic gameplay.
7 Neonwall
Neonwall is a fun indie puzzle game where you overcome traps and challenges to guide your ball to the end of each 3D level. It sounds simple enough, but each level gets progressively harder to learn with new mechanics that will be integrated into later levels as well.
You may choose to play either Runner, Puzzle, or Time Trial Modes to test your mettle in this fun but difficult puzzle game. With your joy-con controllers used to aim at what to manipulate, it is up to you to ensure the level bends to your will so that your ball can make it to the end. Coming with over 50 levels and three game modes to enjoy, you can be sure to sink hours into this game as you try to overcome its various challenges.
6 The Knight of Queen
Being another indie title, The Knight of Queen has you challenge the evil Devil King on behalf of the Queen in order to restore peace to the world. Along the way, you must battle various monsters and servants of the Devil King in turn-based combat to get stronger and level up. You can choose to grind on enemies to level up, buy equipment and potions from the store to bolster yourself or hunt around the maps for treasure waiting to be picked up.
The Knight of Queen has an appealing and proven gameplay formula and a charming simplicity that calls you back to the older days of gaming. For those who grew up with the Pokémon franchise and enjoyed that type of one-on-one turn-based combat, this would definitely be an appealing title for you.
5 Spice and Wolf VR 2
Spice and Wolf VR 2, like its predecessor, is a cute visual novel-like game in which you are put into the shoes of a merchant named Lawrence. Lawrence and his wife Holo, who just so happens to be the wolf goddess, have settled down and opened a bathhouse, even having a daughter together.
The game has you interacting with Holo and your daughter as you deal with the peculiar events that unfold. Spice and Wolf VR 2 is not a particularly long game, but it definitely is a wholesome one. Dive into their tranquil life and experience the peaceful and silly day-to-day of Lawrence and his family.
4 Deemo Reborn
Deemo Reborn introduces the chance encounter between a little girl named Alice and a figure named Deemo. Deemo plays the piano to himself in the lonely castle where the game takes place while Alice mysteriously drops from the sky without any recollection as to how she got there.
