Naruto Storm Connections Finally Gives Boruto Manga Accurate Look

Summary
- Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections has wrapped up its first season pass with the addition of Borushiki, AKA Boruto with Karma.
- The addition is particularly noteworthy for finally giving Boruto a manga-accurate look, including alternate colors similar to previous chapters and anime openings.
- It's an amazing amount of attention to detail that helps make the game really shine.
While most of the anime video game world's attention has been on the upcoming Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, it's easy to forget that Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections has had a solid batch of post-launch DLC. First, there was Hagoromo followed by Isshiki, then the long-awaited return of Kurenai.
After that, Kawaki (Karma) debuted and the first season pass closed out with Boruto (Karma) or Borushiki.
It's an awesome inclusion that helps make the game feel like a true collection of Naruto history from past to present to future. That said, perhaps the coolest part of the DLC is that it finally gives Boruto a manga accurate look.

PostsBoruto Looks How He Should
For those who don't keep up with neither the anime nor the manga, Boruto has two different looks. Originally, the anime kept things consistent with Boruto donning capri-like sweats and shorter sandals. However, after about a dozen or so episodes, his appearance shifted to longer sweats and longer boots. Meanwhile, the manga kept that look prior to its timeskip.
CloseThe DLC gives Boruto that look in full, and it's mighty impressive, especially in all of its HD glory.
CloseHowever, that's not the only manga reference in the DLC. As one fan pointed out on Reddit, the fourth alternate color is the exact same as the cover of Chapter 54 of the manga.
CloseA little less apparent is that the awakening animation is somewhat similar to the ninth opening of the anime.
CloseRegardless of how you feel about Boruto as a character, it's awesome to see the team over at CyberConnect 2 (CC2) pay this much attention to detail to the character, the anime and the manga. It's the little things like this that help make anime games what they are and help separate the good ones from the bad ones.
