Even though Mortal Kombat 1 only just finished its first wave of DLC fighters the other day with the release of Takeda Takahashi, NetherRealm Studios isn't slowing down any time soon. Or would that be kharacters?

PostsThe reveal of several new fighters coming to Mortal Kombat 1 should be an exciting time, but it seems that a lot of fans aren't particularly impressed with the lineup. Ignoring the fact that it was all leaked nearly a year ago and doesn't come as a surprise, the reactions so far have painted a pretty negative response.
Mortal Kombat 1 Fans Aren't Impressed With Khaos Reigns' Fighters
Let's start off with the two most controversial new additions to Mortal Kombat 1 - Sektor and Cyrax. As had been previously leaked, Liu Kang's new timeline has resulted in the two being women this time around, which most fans seem to be unhappy with. That, combined with both no longer being cyborgs, has made them quite unpopular despite having some cool-looking moves.
Noob Saibot seems to be the most well-received fighter in Khaos Reigns' lineup, but even he isn't free of criticism. His new design has been getting a fair bit of flak since it was revealed, with several fans pointing out that he'd look better with a simple design or if he was glowing purple instead of a weird bright green.
Then there are the guest fighters. Ghostface has gotten off lightly but Conan the Barbarian and Terminator's T-1000 are getting slightly harsher responses overall. Over on the Mortal Kombat subreddit, one thread asking fans what they think of Kombat Pack 2 has one fan simply saying, "Genuinely, who tf asked for Conan?", which about sums it up.
One of the biggest complaints for Kombat Pack 2 is that it isn't bringing back Jade, who stands as one of the most popular female Mortal Kombat fighters. I guess we've all moved on from complaining about Mileena...
While the response to T-1000, Ghostface, and Conan is a bit mixed overall, the general sentiment is that fans are a bit sick of seeing guest fighters take up so many slots that could go to original Mortal Kombat characters. It's been like that for a while, sure, but it seems that the tides are turning a bit on just anyone showing up to the MK universe.
