Reboots have become part of Mortal Kombat's canon ever since the 2011 title - unofficially known as Mortal Kombat 9. However, unlike other reboots, MK's reboots still maintain the continuity since the first game, whether the characters know it or not. After merging with the power of Raiden and defeating Kronika, Fire God Liu Kang is now in charge of the Mortal Kombat universe.

Launching on September 19, Mortal Kombat 1 will follow Liu Kang as he brings together Earthrealm's finest warriors, who are younger versions of characters we've seen over the years. The game will launch with a Standard Edition, Premium Edition, and a Kollector's Edition, each with its own physical and in-game bonuses. Here's where you can preorder them before they sell out.

The Standard Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 includes only the base game in a normal plastic case of whichever platform you ordered it for. It doesn't feature any bonus in-game or physical goodies, just the game itself. This is what you'll want to get if you're not interested in any additional material.
