PostsA returning feature from Monster Hunter World is the Tempered Monsters, a more difficult version of the monsters you know, that have become tougher thanks to a hostile environment. Here's all you need to know about them.
What Are The Tempered Monsters?
Tempered Monsters are battle-hardened specimens you can find around the Forbidden Lands; they can be found where they usually wouldn't roam, and they are significantly harder to defeat, so always be prepared. To unlock them, you must finish the Main Story, and once you begin playing on High Rank, you'll eventually come across a Lala Barina that shows slightly different behavior; that'll be your first Tempered Monster fight.
How To Identify A Tempered Monster
Tempered monsters show a different shine on their hides/scales, usually with a slightly pearlescent effect, and they will have one or multiple scars across their bodies. On the map, they show up with a bright purple border around the monster icon so you can easily recognize them, and in the overworld, the Scoutflies will show you the path to the monster's location with a blue light.
Tempered Monster Special Rewards
Defeating Tempered Monsters will reward you with the usual material drops, but something else you can receive from them is the necessary components to create Artian Weapons; these will vary in rarity depending on the difficulty of the hunt you're facing.
