Looking ahead in the game, it will be important to know how to craft a balloon, a broom, and a glider, as these will be your primary modes to travel to the other islands. These essential tools will aid you in your quest to uncover the secrets of Moonstone Island's diverse landscapes and its unique inhabitants.

What Materials Will I Need?

To create a balloon, a broom, and a glider in Moonstone Island, you'll first need to gather a few specific materials.

Balloon

3 Cloth

For the Cloth:

9 Fiber

Broom

Moonstone Enchanter

5 Wood

2 Moonstones

For the Moonstone Enchanter:

3 Moonstones, 9 Copper Ores, 9 Iron Ores

Glider

50 Wood

3 Iron Ingots

3 Moonstone Ingots

For the Ingots:

9 Iron Ores, 9 Moonstones

How To Unlock The Balloon

The balloon will be the first flight method that you unlock after your starting broom is destroyed. To unlock it, simply exit the tavern you wake up in on your first morning on the island.

When you leave the building, a letter from home will be delivered straight to your hands. The letter will contain the crafting recipe for a balloon.

How To Craft The Balloon

The Recipe Requires:

  • Three cloth

To craft the balloon, follow the steps to complete the Craft a Balloon quest.

Use your scythe to cut down grass and collect fiber around the island. You will need to craft three cloths at three fibers a piece.

Once you gather the materials, select the balloon from the crafting menu, and your brand-new balloon will be created and placed in your tool wheel.

How To Unlock The Broom

The broom is a much more viable mode of transportation than the balloon, allowing you to have full rotational control and a much higher speed.

Unlocking the broom will require you to complete the Craft a New Broom quest, which is assigned upon completion of the Craft a Balloon quest.

The Moonstone Enchanter requires one Moonstone Ingot, three Copper Ingots, and three Iron Ingots.

The knowledge to create ingots will come from visiting the blacksmithandcompleting her initial quest; however, the crafting recipe for the enchanter will be available to you immediately.

How To Craft The Broom

The Recipe Requires:

  • Moonstone Enchanter
  • 5 Wood
  • 2 Moonstones

Once you are able to craft the furnace, smelt your ores down to ingots and craft the Moonstone Enchanter.

The rest of the recipe is fairly simple to gather. Collect wood during the day and search for moonstones at night when they are glowing so they are easier to spot.

Once you have the Moonstone Enchanter, the broom will be the first item listed for crafting within the table. Have five wood and two moonstones in your inventory and select the broom for crafting.

Like the balloon, the Broom will be added to your tool wheel. If you do not see it, hover over the balloon and click the right arrow to cycle that slot to the broom.

How To Unlock The Glider

Much like the broom, the option to craft a glider will be available as soon as you craft the Moonstone Enchanter. To craft one, however, you will need more supplies. Rest assured, the upgraded speed and control will be worth the hefty price.

Follow the steps to unlock the glider recipe by finishing the Craft a New Balloon and Craft a New Broom. The crafting recipe for the glider will be in the Moonstone Enchanter.

How To Craft The Glider

The Recipe Requires:

  • 50 Wood
  • 3 Iron Ingots
  • 3 Moonstone Ingots

Gather a total of nine iron ores and nine moonstones to smelt down to ingots. Once you have everything you need, open the Moonstone Enchanter and select the Glider.

Once again, the glider will join your tool wheel once crafted. To locate it, hover your cursor over the balloon or broom and click the right arrow to cycle the slot to the glider.

Which One Is Better: The Balloon, The Broom, Or The Glider?

When it comes to flying, the clear winner is the glider. It is faster and more controllable than its two counterparts, and it is fairly easy to get early on if you set your mind to it.

The only downside of the glider is gathering the moonstones, but this will be no problem if you search as many islands as possible at night. The moonstones will glow, and one is likely to spawn on each island every night.
