A Modern Warfare 2 dataminer has discovered a character model for Ghost that reveals his unmasked face, giving us a first look at what the character looks like under the mask.

For as long as Ghost has been around in Call of Duty, his whole thing has been that he never shows his face. Although the old iteration of the character barely had any time to get around to teasing a face reveal, the rebooted version of Ghost does seem to be leading up to it, even nearly showing his face during Modern Warfare 2's campaign.

Ghost's face seems to be one of the closest-guarded secrets in the Call of Duty universe right now. Well, if Infinity Ward was trying to keep Ghost's appearance secret until some big moment in the next Modern Warfare game, it probably should have removed character models showing his face from the game.

As reported by PCGamesN, Redditor Crafty-Astronomer905 seems to have gone through the game's files and found an unmasked version of Ghost, who appears to be from the cutscene that plays late into the game's campaign where he takes off his skull mask briefly. We don't get to see Ghost's face during the cutscene, but it looks like it was modelled after all.

Considering Ghost's gruff voice and mysterious demeanour, it might be a bit of a surprise to see that he just looks like a normal bloke, one that spends a pretty decent amount of time on his hair. What doesn't come as a surprise is that Ghost is clearly modelled after Samuel Roukin, who voiced and motion-captured the character for Modern Warfare 2.

Reactions to Ghost's real face have gone about as well as you'd expect. One of the most-liked comments underneath the Reddit post says, "That definitely looks like a Simon", which led to a bunch of Inbetweeners references, while other Redditors are just arguing whether or not Ghost is as attractive as he claims to be in a conversation with Soap during the main campaign.
