Dye is actually made from fish, so we're going to cover the different types of fish that give each color dye that you'll want for all your crafting needs. Here's everything you need to know.

How To Make Dye

You make dye by squeezing fish, though only certain fish can be squeezed to do this. Fish can be caught from places like The Dock and the Dark Forest, and once in your inventory, you just need to select them and choose 'Squeeze'.

Squeezing fish will still leave them in your inventory, though they get a hand symbol beside them and their value is reduced to 1 gold.

Despite squeezing reducing the fish's value, we recommend you turn any fish you catch into dye if you're able to as you will need so many dyes to craft various items. You will make more gold from whatever you craft using the dye than the base gold earned from the fish.

How To Get Each Dye Color

There are six different types of fish that give dye when squeezed. Here's a breakdown of each one and the dye it yields.

The availability of fish changes each season, and you might find it taking a while to get the fish you want.

We recommend that you stock up on fish that can create dye when you visit the Night Market to ensure you have a good supply of dyes when needed.
