In case you missed it — and we certainly hope you didn't — Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has finally been given a release date of December 4, meaning after eight long years, the game will officially be in the hands of players.

Not only was a release date announced during Friday's long-awaited Nintendo Direct presentation, but it was also revealed that Samus would have access to a pretty sweet motorcycle to traverse with.

Naturally, it didn't take long for a fan to take Samus and her motorcycle and recreate the iconic bike sliding scene from Akira. After all, it's not a motorcycle scene without some Akira homages.

Of course, we'll have to wait until early December to see if we can recreate that scene in-game. But for now, art is plentiful and supremely awesome.

Samus Is The Latest Nintendo Character To Get A Bike

As one user on social media pointed out, it was only a matter of time before Samus and the larger Metroid franchise got the motorcycle treatment, as multiple Nintendo franchise characters had also received bikes at one point or another as of late.

There are bikes in Mario Kart, Link got one in the Breath of the Wild DLC, Kirby has a Wheelie, and lest we forget that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet also had ridable Pokemon that were then made into real-life bikes.

In other words, it's really par for the course. Now it's time to speculate on who will get one next. My money is on Star Fox.
