You've reached the top floor of the Spire of Blind Faith, and it's time to go head-to-head with the boss of this Metaphor: ReFantazio dungeon, Leogron. This fight can be tough - or, with the right setup, it can honestly be easier than the "regular" enemies prowling the lower floors.

We reckon you'd prefer the latter, so we've documented our findings as we kicked the Leogron down and stole back its Monster Notebook to complete the "Peak Curiosity" quest. Our guide includes Leogron's moveset, its affinities, our party setup, and how we managed to drop it in a simple and clean three rounds with minimum pain along the way.

Battle Strategy

This fight's all about seizing upon Leogron's dual weaknesses to Fire and Pierce. While it's a deadly beast, you can surely clear it in relative swiftness so long as you have a healer on-hand to consistently cast a high-level spell that ensures everyone's in good standing.

If Junah is with you, her Flame Vortex spell is perfect for this point in the game. Between her naturally high Magic stat, and its heavy Fire damage, it will put the pain on Leogron. At 42 MP, it's quite costly, but, well, this is your main enemy in this dungeon.

Strohl should focus on the Sniper's Mania Bullet. It deals considerable Pierce damage. It also adds a one-time weakness to Pierce (irrelevant here), as well as Slash and Strike.

Slash is the important part - if you have an Assassin, then Illusive Dream will hit with Slash damage multiple times. WIth Heismay's high Agility, plus the Assassin's also-high Agility, you can get this hit in regularly.

Make sure to steal the Crystal Ice Gunbai, a Commander Archetype weapon, if you have the Assassin with you (or you've inherited Steal).

Debuff Leogron's elevated Hit and Evasion if it uses Heat Riser, since you don't want to throw away turn icons with misses. If that happens a few times, that's when the damage piles on your party fast.

So long as no one on your roster is weak to Wind, even Chimera King's Wing shouldn't set you back so badly that you'll have routine KOs.

Leogron coughs up quite a bit of EXP upon its defeat. We were already a bit highly-leveled - the protagonist was level 47 - and he jumped to 49 afterward!
