First Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater Delta Gameplay Footage Revealed

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Delta was revealed earlier this year, which will bring back Naked Snake for another trek across the jungle in what is now one of next year's most highly anticipated games. To get Metal Gear fans even more excited, Xbox and Konami have teamed to up to showcase some gameplay from the remake for the very first time, giving us a closer look at Snake skulking through swamps, blending into his surroundings, and much more.
While the trailer is simply an in-engine demonstration and only showcases pre-alpha footage, it's our best look at how Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Delta will play when it finally releases. The portion of gameplay that is revealed is a brief look at the beginning of Snake's mission, as he skulks around the crocodile infested swamps while taking down patrolling baddies.

Can bloom in the Master Collection even without Hideo Kojima?
PostsWe get to see some climbing animations, Snake taking a guard hostage, and a brief look at the game's first person mode, which can be switched into when prone just like in the original. We also see Snake using a different camo jumpsuit during an approach towards an enemy base, so we can probably assume that the game's camoflague mechanics have been kept in tact.
The rest of the trailer is varying shots of the environment, which is probably an attempt by Konami to showcase the engine and what it can do. Rather surprisingly, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Delta is being made with Unreal Engine 5 this time around, instead of the Fox engine that Konami has been using for the majority of its more recent Metal Gear Solid titles.
Unfortunately, this new trailer didn't come with a release date of any knid, nor the promise that it will actually launch at some point next year. It's possible that we could see more of the game this year during a big show such as The Game Awards, but it's more likely that we'll have to wait until 2024 for any potential release date news. Then again, almost no one expected it to show up at a small scale Xbox event, so who knows these days.
In other Metal Gear news, the recent release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 has once again teased the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid 4 rerelease, as listings for the title, Peace Walker, and Phantom Pain were found in the collection's files. Metal Gear Solid 4 has been locked to the PS3 for the past 15 years, and a rerelease would definitely give more people an opportunity to play one of the more overlooked mainline Metal Gear titles.
