Summary

  • PlayStation is continuing its commitment to PC gaming, as it has announced that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store.
  • Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be launching on PC on January 30, 2025, with Nixxes handling the port as always.

PlayStation's ongoing commitment to PC gaming has been bearing fruit recently. While there have been hiccups along the way (looking at you Helldivers 2 and Until Dawn), expanding PlayStation's wide library of quality first-party titles a year or two after release has given each title a second chance to rake in some more players. Now that God of War: Ragnarök is out on PC, PlayStation needed another big title to bring to the platform, and its sights are firmly set on Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Announced by developer Insomniac Games during this year's New York Comic-Con, it was revealed that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be launching on PC in just a few months' time on January 30. Once again, this port is being done by Nixxes, which has built itself up as a brilliant studio for PC ports of PlayStation titles, and the game is currently available to wishlist on both Steam and the Epic Game Store.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Is Coming To PC In January

PlayStation's numbers on Steam haven't been incredible recently, and the less said about Concord the better, but we can probably expect Spider-Man 2 to sell like hotcakes. The first game is one of the best performing titles for PlayStation on PC at the moment, and PC users will no doubt want to get their hands on the sequel.

No, Multiplayer Spider-Man Is Not A Good Idea

In the wake of Concord's closure, some fans argue that Insomniac should've stuck with its cancelled live-service Spider-Man game. They're wrong.

Unfortunately, this good news for PC players has come with some pretty bad news for existing fans. In a blog post following the game's PC reveal, Insomniac Games broke the news that Spider-Man 2 will not be getting any additional story DLC going forward, despite high-profile leaks that hinted at The Beetle, and certain plot threads in the game itself involving characters like Carnage.

We know from the Insomniac leaks last year that a Venom game is apparently in the works, which could tie up certain threads that were left dangling at the end of Spider-Man 2, but Insomniac has shown almost no sign of actually announcing something along those lines just yet.
