PlayStation is going all out for the launch of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Understandable for a couple of reasons. Not only because it's the first big game coming out of one of its own studios for a while, but also because it has the somewhat daunting task of trying to share the spotlight with Super Mario Bros. Wonder which launches on the same day. We'll be getting a dry run of that today as Nintendo will host a Direct and PlayStation has a State of Play a few hours later.

Both Nintendo and PlayStation have also released special edition consoles for their October 20 games, but PlayStation has pushed the boat out quite a bit further on that front. Not only can you buy a limited edition Spider-Man 2 PS5, but if you already own the console and don't feel like spending $500 to replace it, you can just buy the Spidey covers and DualSense. Speaking of which, the latter is back in stock at Amazon after previously selling out, but you'll need to be quick.

Very quick, actually, as the first wave of controllers sold out almost immediately. The same has happened with Amazon's restocks of the Spider-Man covers, although it was evident with those that Amazon wisely chose to add its stock in batches. It's still unclear if it has applied the same tactic to its second wave of DualSense controllers. You can check if there's any stock left and buy one of your own by clicking the Amazon link below.

Spider-Man 2 Special Edition DualSense Controller

The Spider-Man 2 Special Edition DualSense Controller comes as a part of the PS5 bundle, but is also sold separately. It features a design of the Symbiote creeping up on the red that denotes Spider-Man.

PlayStation's Spider-Man 2 collection has been designed to look like a symbiote is trying to consume the equipment on which you'll be playing the sequel a little over a month from now. A design that some have claimed is a little unimaginative, but hey, the stock continues to sell out immediately wherever it appears so my guess is a lot more people like the design than don't.

The new line of Spider-Man PlayStation products isn't the only appearance-based thing fans have been torn over. They've also been debating the trim of Peter's advanced suit in the new game, arguing over whether it'll be white or black and which looks better. Insomniac confirmed it's black this week. A wise choice as that seemed to be the more popular option on social media.
