The Marvel Rivals team has promised a new character every month and a half. You'd have to think that means NetEase already has quite a few of those heroes and villains ready to go, and the steady flow of leaks strongly suggests that's the case. Five more characters that will potentially be added to the Rivals roster soon have leaked today, and all of them are X-Men.

The fresh batch of Rivals leaks comes courtesy of X0XLEAK, an account that has been spot on so far when it comes to revealing information about the hero shooter that hasn't been officially revealed yet. Prior leaks have already suggested Charles Xavier and Cyclops will be added to Rivals soon, and it seems the game will have a lot of X-Men by the end of this year if that and this latest leak are anything to go by.

If X0XLEAK's latest updates are correct, Gambit, Rogue, Beast, Nightcrawler, and Jubilee will all be playable characters in Rivals soon. Well, soon might be a stretch. There are no dates or even windows tied to any characters beyond Human Torch and The Thing who have been confirmed to be joining the Rivals roster at some point during the current season, completing its Fantastic Four line-up.

With today's additions, that makes 22 leaked characters that haven't been revealed yet. If we really are going to get one character every six weeks or so, we might be waiting a while before that influx of X-Men characters. Either that or they will be spread out a little so we're not getting nothing but X-Men characters for nine months.

If all 22 character leaks so far are correct, and the one character every month and a half promise is kept, that means some of those characters might still be almost three years away. That their imminent arrivals in Rivals have potentially been discovered already also suggests NetEase really does have a lot of heroes and villains on the back burner and ready to go whenever they need them.

It's also possible that some seasons call for more than two heroes similar to the one we're in right now. It would make a lot of sense to add multiple X-Men at once and considering the characters leaked today, it might be a situation where they're saved for the release of X-Men '97 season two on Disney Plus. Releasing a new character based on how they look in the show every week to coincide with each new episode sounds like a great idea to me if NetEase, Marvel, and Disney can make that happen.
