Summary

  • The Thing and Human Torch will be added to Marvel Rivals on February 21.
  • This marks the halfway point for Season 1, introducing new changes to the game.
  • One of these is a rank reset, seeing everyone drop by four divisions in competitive. We'll then drop by six when Season 2 starts.

Marvel Rivals developer NetEase has just released a blog post on changes coming to the game, confirming when the next characters will launch. In the post, NetEase reveals that The Thing and Human Torch will be added to the roster on February 21.

The pair will join Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic, who were added to the game at the start of Season 1. This means that the Fantastic Four is together once more, expanding the already large roster even further.

The Fantastic Four Will Be In Marvel Rivals Starting February 21

The half-season mark will also roll out some rank resets in competitive

The blog post doesn't give us any details on the characters just yet, but at the very least, we now know we will be playing as them very soon. Their addition to the game will mark the second half of Season 1.

While we have had four new heroes this season, future seasons will add two.

However, the blog post details some other changes coming to Marvel Rivals in the second half of the season. The most impactful that we know about so far is rank resets. Starting from February 21, everyone will drop by four divisions. Going forward, this will take place every half-season. Every time a brand new season kicks off, it will go down by six divisions.

At the very least, rewards will be rolled out depending on your highest rank. Those who reached gold or above at their peak will get a costume, and anyone in grandmaster will get a Crest of Honour. If you're not a fan of this, the blog post states that the devs will "tune this as necessary", so it's open to change.
