Usually, news stories about Marvel Rivals would start with how great the game is and how receptive the devs are to the requests of the community. However, the biggest news about the game right now is that despite its massive success and unprecedented player retention, Marvel Rivals director Thaddeus Sasser and his entire team have been laid off by NetEase.

The news has come as a sudden shock to the community and the overall industry as well, with many lamenting the industry's state of job security and even thinking that the game is going to see a drop in quality. With that being said, the game has been rolling out its latest content, with the latest trailer for a new map teasing a highly requested character.

Dracula Better Watch Himself

Earlier today Marvel Rivals dropped a trailer for the upcoming Central Park map, which has been taken over by Dracula and his imposing lair. It looks like a mix of the vampire's castle peppered with certain elements of Central Park as we used to know it. The Central Park map will come to Marvel Rivals on February 21, along with The Fantastic Four's Human Torch and The Thing.

"When the Timestream Entanglement swept over New York City, Dracula seized the opportunity with Doctor Doom's gift, stopping the moon and declaring an eternal night with the power of Chronovium," says the description. "Now, the heroes are ready to take the battle to his gothic headquarters within Central Park."

At the end of the trailer, we got a brief glimpse at a rather angry looking daywalker, our first official look at Blade. We already knew Blade was going to be coming to the game via leaks. In fact, the leak even showed us his entire character model.

Besides the angry face, no other details were revealed about Blade. However, he mostly uses his sword, and there's a giant sword on his back in the leaks too, he'll likely be a melee focussed character. Who better than a daywalking vampire hunter to take the fight to Dracula's home?
